Anyone who says "educational" is a motherfucking liar.

I mean, I love Discovery Channel and Food Network and all that, but if I said I watch television PRIMARILY to be educated and not entertained, I would fully expect to be hit by lightning in my asscrack post haste.

Although, of course, I watch TV to be entertained, I mostly watch reality TV - which I feel is educational.

I do love nature programmes and documentaries, so I guess they are more educational than say junk reality tv and shit that is purely *supposed to be* entertainment.. nod

Even the nature shows and documentaries I watch are more entertaining than they are educational, though. I'm learning some, sure, but for each new fact there are just as many moments of "ooh, that's pretty, I'm not thinking about bills or laundry or global warming....zzzzz"

Not necessarily; there are lessons to be learned about human behavior in even "junk" reality TV.

Your sig!!! falloff

I hardly watch any tv these days - only the programmes I make a point of viewing - but they're usually crappy things. lol Big Brother, Deal Or No Deal (my new obsession love it's on right now giggle). Oh and The Apprentice, but I wouldn't call that crappy.

The new season of BB will be starting in a few weeks! woot! 14 weeks of tv = instant money saver. lol

Have you ever seen the British version of The Apprentice, Ace? I only caught a few episodes of the US version, and missed the first series here, but got totally hooked on the last one. Great stuff!

I've no idea, sorry. Maybe bbc online or something?

This series only stated last week so it's yet to get going... and the candidates seem... I dunno... a little different this year. Much younger, less 'corporate'. Alan Sugar (our equivalent of Donald Trump) is amazing. worship
