i BET if you poked around different wrecka/video/megastows (beast buy, etc.) you'd eventually find a stray season one box set, new, at regular price.

hell, i found a non-super-expensive copy of gold experience used in iceland. lol

I will start looking.

heck, check half.com and froogle if you're bored...sometimes people don't know they're getting rid of rarities and you can pounce on an amazing deal. nod

Good Luck with this. You know, you may be better off going to the store for this. I have seen the stray set here and there.

I retract my statement regarding a full on set this XMas. Seeing as Season One IS out of Print, I am willing to bet there be a huge cry from those that waited as well.

I found a couple of auctions on ebay that are still reasonable.... I've never done an auction, though.

Now I just want it!! lol

Do you remember Heather Graham in it? She's so cute and kinda chubby as I recall.

I just found this and it has pictures of all the characters. Billy Zane is included.

And how could I forget Madchen Amick? She was gorgeous.

Although, I did watch most of this series when it originally aired, I can in no way, shape or form endorse this artsy-fartsy, made-up stuff present day.

Just so we're clear. razz

To answer a few questions, and provide some interesting tidbits:

There was no third season. The orginal intention was to continue the story into the third, with the first five episodes dedicated to resolving the various cliffhangers, most notably the evil Dale possessed by Bob bit. After these episodes the show was going to jump ahead five years in time, since they didn't want to run into the problem that shows like 90210 did with having actors in their late 20s still playing teens.

When ABC cancelled the show, Lynch and Frost intended to then do a series of three or four films. Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me was intended to fill in some of the story details that were going to be explored within the third season (that's why a prequel, which actually introduced MORE mysteries, was done first). The second film was intended to resolve the cliffhangers, while the third would then move into some of the secrets of Project Blue Book and the mystery of the Blue Rose cases. When TP:FWWM tanked at the box office, all such plans were scrapped.

At one point, there was talk of doing another TP movie, and then doing a series of self-contained Dale Cooper movies, set outside of the TP backdrop. While this never came to fruition, a French company bought the film rights to TP a while back, and have approached Lynch about being involved, but he's been busy with other projects.

Chris Carter even tried, at one point, to negotiate a deal where he could use the TP characters on The X-Files (seeing as how that show was directly inspired by it). He even planned to have Duchovny reprise his role from TP by having Denise be a relative of Mulder's. Plans for a two-part episode involving Cooper, The Black Lodge and Bob never got very far.

There is a rumour (from a fairly reliable source) that a box set collecting the pilot, as well as the first and second seasons on DVD, is in the works for a fall release. This makes me hesitant to pick up the second-season box, as I reeeeeaaaallly want the pilot.

Oh, one last bit....did you know that Lynch directed a series of Twin Peaks themed commercials for a Japanese coffee company?! Seriously!

the special features on the season 2 box seem like leftovers from the season 1 box...i can see them being melded together in one big set.
