The only thing I can think of, is you pulled the strip in the wrong direction. For example, when I get my legs waxed, the woman stands at the foot of the bed and pulls the cloth away from her. You need to pull the strip in the opposite direction the hair is growing.
The upper lip hair grows down so you should have pulled up with the strip, maybe taking your other hand and tauting the skin from the corner of your mouth.
Have it done professionally once, see what she does, then try at home again.

Good thought, but yes, I did it correctly. I've been professionally waxed before, just not there.


Whatever happened was unfortunate. Maybe the type of wax?? When I wax even sensitive areas, I don't do special stuff to the skin afterward...
