Go to a chiropractor. They will crack your neck something beautiful and poof! Literally no pain.

Or, get some of that bio freeze. it relieves muscle pain so well.

But seriously, go see a chiropractor

keep your neck warm, wear roll necks and be sure to do some neck and back stretching exercises daily.

but you must be careful, stretching the neck has to be done slowly and carefully.

also eat plenty of iron and b12 rich foods, to strengthen your blood circulation.

I've no idea, but I'm in pain too, so I'll commiserate. lol I think my TMJ is back. I haven't had it for YEARS but my jaw has been hurting for days now and I have a hard time opening my mouth all the way early in the morning. I used to get it quite badly in my early 20's, but I haven't had it for sooooo long it's weird to come back all of a sudden. If I'm not careful, it gives me headaches too. pout

take a very hot shower and let the water massage the cramped areas
you must be very careful when stretching your neck, when rolling your head side to side,
you must stop mid way and roll it back slowly and controlled from left to right

bio freeze is good, if you can get somebody to massage it in for you. or wrap up really warm to heat and loosen your muscles.

i've got TMJ too. at least, that's what the orthodontist told me it was, but i've never felt anything but a very occasional ache from it. i can pop the left side of my jaw in & out at will, basically, though i try not to.

"Temporomandibular joint diseases and disorders, commonly called TMJ, are a collection of poorly understood conditions characterized by pain in the jaw and surrounding tissues and limitations in jaw movements. Injury and conditions that routinely affect other joints in the body, such as Arthritis, also affect the temporomandibular joint."

For me, basically, I clench my jaw when I sleep, most people who have it grind their teeth. It's often stress induced. For me, my jaw will sometimes lock into place when it gets really bad. I can remember a couple of mornings not being able to open my mouth at all more than a centimeter or so. I'd finally force it and I'd hear a big POP when I'd finally get it to open.

Stick to the missionary for a few days. You're probably overstretched.

Sort of. I never even saw a doctor for mine before. Of course, that was when I was younger and had bad health insurance. From what I've read, when it's mild you basically treat it like any sore joint or muscle and hope it goes away. For most people it does, it's often a temporary condition that comes and goes. For people who grind their teeth, you can get bite plates to wear when you sleep that are supposed to help.

It's weird after it being gone sooooo long for me it's come back. If it hurts for more than a few more days I'll likely go in and see someone this time.

Have you considered the possibility of spending too much time on the computer?? Treat the cause, not the symptom. biggrin

I never thought about that. I honeslty don't know what I'd do without my raw veggies! lol
I don't chew gum, though, cause I've always had this issue.

it could be part of the problem, i used to eat lots of raw vegetables to strengthen my jaw from chewing, when i boxed.

and shit my mouth hurt afterwards..

maybe hmmm

i think it's more related to sleeping in an odd position, though. usually when it happens i've woken up curled up in a corner of my bed, and i did today.lol

yes, i was about to say, the most likely causes of stiffness in the neck, apart from the obvious demonic possession, is a cold draft and awkard sleeping position.
