This was my boss. On Thursday evening, while I was still in Atlanta on some personal business, my team lead called me and gave me the news that my Boss had been shot and killed in what appeared to be a murder/suicide.

She worked out of New York, so I never actually met her, but I have worked on and off for her for the past 4 years.

She was well liked by most, and absolutely loved by my colleagues in New York.


This is very wierd for me. I feel as if I should be more sad about what took place. And to some extent I am sad for her and her family. She battled cancer for 2 years (That I know of), and we thought that it was in remission. It appears that this thing was terminal.

It's caused me to examine myself alot and try and figure out if I should be feeling more empathy--more sorrow.

I mean, out of the people I actually KNOW who died, some of them I cried over and STILL haven't gotten over, but then there are some, that I didn;t even shed a tear over.

well, you know, sometimes the natural course of things is that you can't feel anything at first. it takes a while to process the reality of something like this. maybe you don't feel as sad as you should because it just hasn't hit you yet.

Being on the org this morning has been great. I really needed to smile and joke around.

Not to be disrespectful to my boss, but my projects still need to get done, and I simply can't do it with dark clouds over me.

I'll need to say a prayer for her at the temple this week.
