There are many planets out there with aliens I'm sure, don't have to be grey, they can be like us.

Yes. I hope the gas price was cheaper though.

Unfortunately the next generation telescopes that will more easily track down earth like/sized planets are about 20 years off I think. I'm afraid I'll be old by the time we discover planets that will totally blow us away.

I seriously doubt these types of planets (earth like) or even ones that harbor life are rare.

But I get a sense that there's this huge Universe filled with organisms, in which Intelligence at our level (yes, I know that sounds like a joke) is an evelutionary mistake since adaptation doesn't require us to be this smart -- I mean if it did, you'd have many times the number of intelligent species on our planet. But I get the sense that we're all living in these little bubbles in the Universe unable to really reach out to each other becuase of physical limitations.

Hell, even if we can communicate, that star system is 20 light years away. It would take 20 years just to say "hello" and 20 more years to get a response. confused

I hope and pray that it's possible to overcome these obstacles. But if it were, our friends would already be here.

Yes, but unlike married people's bedrooms, these planets are not cold desolate worlds. That's the tragedy.

Life is more than just about the right conditions, I doubt we will find owt there. Perhaps somehwere to move to when we have totally fucked up earth.
Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

Honestly I don't think it'll be that long. If I remember correctly there will be better ones sent into orbit in less than 5 years.

I would say life at our level would be rare, there were too many variables to get to us, the dinosauars had to have major mass extinction in order for us to began. And the universe is a big place.

Not to be a wet sponge but taking into consideration our own solar system is 3 light yrs deep, even traveling at our human fastest (according to current physics light speed for matter is impossible) of approx. 29,000 mph just think how long it would take for us to even leave our own solar system let alone make it to some other system.
