Does Anybody Here Suffer From Phobia(s)? If So, What Are They? They say "the best solution to cure your phobias is to confront them". Well, living in this desert oriented atmosphere, I was bound to confront the biggest of them ALL and they're these greasy, nasty, skunky motherfuckers. And no, it didn't cure my phobia against 'em
The locals call those stinkbugs "Al-fassaya",,,and lemme tell you, when one of these skunky bastids sense any danger, they "fart" the god awfulest I'm completely alarmed by black beeltes, I can almost feel if they crawled into my living room. And when they do, I call my husband or one of the kids to pick 'em up and throw them outta the window I had to lock myself in my car for an hour coz my goddamn husband wanted to scare me with those

I hate roaches too, but mainly cause they're ugly. The big ones are the worst.
I do have a few phobias - I'm scared of heights, but not in a horrible way. Only in cases like if I'm on a ladder or something. The worst one is arachnophobia. No. Spiders. I can't stand spiders; I just severely dislike them - the way they move, how many legs they have...everything. HE'S COMING AGAIN

I'm horribly scared of bugs. Like any bug is on me I freak the hell out. If I see a bee I try to get away from it then and there. I'm also scared of flying and I'm scared of heights. Soul mate-One of two persons compatible with each other in disposition, point of view, or sensitivity.

For real! It's creepy. I don't trust anything with less than two or more than four legs. HE'S COMING AGAIN

I saw one in my room one night not too long ago about the size of those Madagascar hissing ones. I killed it, but I screamed so loud when I saw it. It terrified me so that I just kinda sat there for a second or two frozen in shock, because I had never seen one that big. I couldn't sleep at all that night, and for days after I slept with the light on. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I couldn't sleep at all that night, and for days after I slept with the light on. That's how I am with spiders, only to a larger degree. The other day there was a spider on the windowsill behind my burgundy colored curtains (in my room), so I didn't notice it until right when I opened them. I freaked out even though it was a little tiny thing. Even after it was dead, I kept thinking there were more back there. It's very childish because I didn't even want to lay in my bed, which is very close to the window. Ugh... It's amusing to me and at the same time...not. HE'S COMING AGAIN

My voice trembles, my heart races so fast, and my words become so unorganized when I have to give presentations in class. I wanna die everytime I get in front of a class to speak. I have two 15 minute ones at the end of the semester. I'm dreading them already. Other than that, I'm not sure if it's a phobia, but I don't like germs. I go through a big bottle of sanitizer a week. I use anti-bacterial soaps, Lysol, and those wipes like crazy, on anything and everything. I know that there's no way of getting around germs, so I've been trying to change my thought process on this and only use sanitizers at appropriate times like out in public only. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Used to have a highway phobia. Wouldn't drive them at all and didn't for years. But driving from the east coast to the west will tend to give you a little more confidence. Definitely confront your phobias--then they don't have power over you.

IVs. I can't even think about getting one, or see someone get one without freaking out a little.

Throwing up. Sounds weird, but I haven't done it in years because every time I feel the need to I suppress the urge. I can't stand it. I freak out when other people do it because the sound of it makes me want to throw up. I've actually developed a fear of vomiting. HE'S COMING AGAIN

I've fainted from an IV taking too long to be set up by the nurse. I can't look at my blood being drawn, either. It's not a phobia though, it's a physiological response hardwired into my brain.

1. Large dogs. I'm scared of ALL of them. I especially *hate* Pit bull breeds (which aren't LARGE per say, but I hate them anyways).
2. Praying Mantis - you can throw cockroaches, bees, and wasps in my direction and I'll only flinch from the normal response due to caution (nobody wants to get stung you know), but if you throw a Praying Mantis at me, I will freak the fuck out. 3. Worms - I'm not afraid of them in the sense that I think they'll do something to me, but I think they are the most disgusting creatures you could think up. I can't stand to look at them. They totally gross me out. That being said, I feel sorry for them, and often try to move worms I see on sidewalks back into the grass & dirt to save them, despite my revulsion of them. lynch-to-flinch edit [Edited 4/8/07 20:23pm]

I know someone like that. He's 26 and he's never attempted at a license because he's scared to drive. He doesn't even like riding with someone on interstates. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Doesn't sound weird to me, I have a total phobia of hurl I haven't done it since before I was a teen, I can't stand to hear/see/smell other people do it. It's just about the grossest thing to me. And if I know where it has happened, I have a really hard time using that restroom for days after...
