Hmm I want to free up some space on my computer..

..and get rid of some programmes.. but last time I did that I wiped off stuff I needed.. duh

So how can I know what I dont need and what is just space grabbing? eek

You can start with MS Office.
If you don't use powerpoint or Access, you can re-run the install program and get rid of those. Most people don't use those.


Also, Just look honestly at what you do or do not use.
One great solution is to by an external USB hard drive. They are so cheap now that you can get one with 100g for less than 100 us dollars, and up to 400+ gig for not much more.
Plus with external hard drives, you can move it from computer to computer as needed. shrug

Internal Hard Drives are even cheaper, but you'll need to know how to install them, and each motherboard reacts differently to configuring them--not rocket science, but can cause confusion for those who aren't used to it.

My recommendation is to look at adding space rather than deleting stuff. Cuase you'll just be back to this situation in a few months anyways.

Yeah I am doing that now.. and clearing out all files I dont use anymore.. but I just seem to have all these programmes that I dont know what they are for.. and hardly use.. but last time I wiped Microsoft Office and didnt have word or excel or anything lol

The cool thing about the external drives is if you get a new computer, you do almost no work to move it to that one. It's like plugging in an ipod.
