i guess i'm interested in stuff like this if a person takes their experience and makes art with it to help other people in the same situation. like when olivia newton john made an album about surviving breast cancer. that was admirable, moreso than just putting out a press release saying she had the disease. not that she was obligated to do that, but it was cool that she used her experience to create art to help other people. when artists/celebrities do something like THAT, i will pay a bit of attention and i'll definitely respect them. when it's part of a publicity junket? not so much.

If you can so easily dismiss her, people can just as easily dismiss you and anything you say you are going through.

Depression should never be doubted or dismissed, no matter who says it.

It seems the same people who say that celebs are no different then other people and blah blah blah are usually the same ones to dismiss anything that they may be going through that would also be something that Joe Regular may be going through and could relate to.

It's a fascination with celebrity culture either way, imo.
