AMAZING EPISODE! Probably the best so far this season. The writing has gotten so much tighter.

At the end (highlight for the spoiler!!!) We find out that Lockes Dad ended up pushing him out a window, which caused his paralysis. After he blows up the sub, he and Ben have a discussion in which Locke knew Ben wanted him to blow it up, but he didn't do so because Ben wanted it to happen. Now Ben can claim no one can leave. The decide to take John to see the Man from Tallahassee and it turns out to be Lockes Dad.

Pretty messed up if you ask me. Next week is all about Paulo and Nikki.

I think now that they know when the end might be, we're going to see more and learn more. Really the first 6 of this season (save for the first few minutes), seemed to be hanging in Limbo. As all they were doing was showing how the Others live, but nothing major was revealed really outside of the first episode.

I also think that there are things that are understood by the writers that clearly were missed on the audience. There was a lot of "if John was able to walk, why is it Ben has a tumor" type of stuff. The Last 3 episodes have included dialogue that reveals a lot I think (notice they have the characters asking questions now), though as with much of the dialogue on Lost, it's subtle. We bitch now, but in the end, it'll be Lost's subtlety with the subject matter that will eventually win over the "gimme the answer" mentality that prevails over this show.

I watched this last night on DVR (a newborn means no late-night live TV), and I agree that this was a great episode. I think there's more to this magic box. And I think "the man from Tallahassee" isn't who it appears to be - I think it's our old friend Smokey.

Oh, I will never miss this show. It's still my favorite show on TV. I often just don't get to watch the episodes in time to join in on the conversation, since my son takes a lot of my attention when I'm at home.

What's next? Next week ought to be interesting as we get Niki and Paulo's back story. Not sure why it's important. I also think that Sun's Kidnapping is going to come to a head. Which is not going to bode well for at least to of the Survivors.

We obviously have captivity issues again with Locke, Kate & Sayid. Juliet and Jack were supposed to leave. Now what? Rouseau is still out there and watching. Maybe she'll help them in some way.

Holy crap. This week's episode was amazing. Nothing new unfortunately, but it was so well-written, IMO. They way they inserted the flashbacks into scenes we already knew - great.

Agreed! How fittingly fucked up was it that Nikki opened her eyes as the last shovel full hits her face! I almost wanted her and Paolo to make it, but then I remembered that Karma can either be a reward, or an absolute bitch.

Can't we sometimes see "smokey" without realizing it? I think this was hinted at by the writers at some point. Maybe the spiders that paralyzed Nikki were actually a manifestation of it? I think there were also some of those sounds in the background.

well, remember when the guy(cant remember his name) told nikki that this particular female spider has a pheremone so strong, that if he opened the jar every male of the species would be attracted to it? When paolo smashed the spider the scent was like a beacon for the male spiders. Thats where they came from.
