Last night on my way home I took a night bus and was sat with my bags next to me on the seat.. a guy got on the bus, asked me to move my bags and sat right next to me.

I was subjected to him feeling up my leg with his leg, but thought not much of it to begin with, cos maybe he was just sat too close and it was pretty squashy. But it went on and on and he was definitely making moves on me.. I pretended I didnt notice but he went at it more.

I really wanted to move but there werent any more seats and then really wanted to get of the bus, but I feared if I did, he would follow me off aswell.

Maybe I should have said something but sadly these days some of us dont say diddly squat for fear of their reaction.. so it went on and on until he did actually get off the bus.. If the bus was going on to Timbuktoo I would have stayed there until he got off earlier, I just didnt want him to follow me home.Towards the end, he had me really pinned into my seat with NO leg room whatsoever - fucking prick!

Has anything like this happened to you?

I remember a work colleague took the metro in Paris and there were no seats, so she stood pressed up to so many people. She felt something stick in her behind and guessed it must be the guys umbrella, so just ignored it. When she got off at her stop, it wasnt an umbrella stuck in her.. he had jizzed all over the back of her skirt..

if he does react badly, you can make a complaint and have him thrown off the bus
most buses have cctv and the driver has a panic button that will alert the police

in these situations our fear allows these guys to get away with unreasonable behaviour

i also recommend carrying Stoppa Red Personal Attack Spray, just in case the sitation does escalate..

I remember back in high school, someone from our public transit came to talk to our school about women using it alone, especially at night and what we could do to protect ourselves. Stuff like if you really don't want to sit next to that person, just move! IT sounded weird to me at first but it did come in handy a few times when some older guys were eyeing me, I would just roll my eyes and move to another seat or onto the next train cart once we stopped at another station.

One time I was part of a crowd waiting for janet jackson and this guy was right behind me and I could feel his penis a little but we were all squished but then it kind of cleared up and he was still touching me and I didn't know how to react at first but then I looked him in the eye and said in my calmest voice that there's room to move now you know and raised an eyebrow and he surprisingly backed off
