wow another one Another one of my friends died last night. That's two now. He was in his early 30s and got fibrosis of the lungs. Then yesterday one of my favorite orgers deleted his account with no forwarding address. Death is doing a dance with me these days.

One of my high school friends was found in the trunk of his car, with his new wife, shot up. It was his ex-wife and her new boy friend who did it. I didn't find out until months after his death, as I did a very bad job of keeping in contact with my high school friends. It's a very wierd experience at the very least. I haven't experienced actual death of friends that I've cried over yet. I assume it's a horrible feeling as I tend to love my friends very much.

I have had so little experience with death until now. I am still reeling utterly disoriented by the suicide last month, but this recent death feels very very different. It has something to do with the kinds of people they were and at least this time people got to say goodbye and there was a lot of love and care around it.

heartbeatocean - wow, that sounds like a lot for one person to deal with and experience, especially in such a short span of time.

thanks so much guys. I love the support of the community here. It is a lot to deal with, but their families have it much much worse. The intensity of the circumstances has changed me as a person permanently, I think, that's what I feel. But it makes me love life and everyone I know all the more.

I'm sorry to hear it HEARTBEATOCEAN and IMAGO.
As you all know. My favorite cousin, we were like brothers, died in 2004 and then in 2005 my best friend died. It is hard, unfortunately we all have to go through it. Losing a parent is the worst. I lost my mom in 1994. I can't say it was easier, because we knew she was going to pass away and we were by her side until the end, but it was different. My cousin and best friend was a total shock. They found my cousin in his room dead, they never knew exactly what happened. He had problems though and used drugs. My best friend had rare tumors and passed away 1 1/2 months after diagnosis. I'm so sorry...none of us will escape tragedy, unfortunately.
Eventually finding peace with it is the only consolation. My love to all of you. "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

M I'm sorry! Yes, shock is really tough. My biggest problem with all this is small children losing their father to suicide. That's just something I cannot reconcile and never will be able to.

My friend was HIV+ I spoke to him on the phone about a year ago when he was in the hospital with pneumonia and almost lost his life then. He's part of the second generation affected by AIDS and yes, they're still dying.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
Last year, a work friend of mine died of cancer. She was in her early 30s and had just married another work buddy of mine. That followed losses of other young friends within a year or two. Hang in there.
