Two dogs or one I have an opportunity to buy another dog. I have a male minauture schnauzer who is one year and two months old. The new dog would be a female min schnauzer. I would like some input from dog owners. Is it better to have two dogs?

I would say to get two dogs, because they can keep each other company when no one is home. My cats enjoy each other's company, and like to chase each other through the house. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I can't say that's it's better or worse, but I had two dogs for 8 years (I just lost my 11 year old this month ) and taking care of two was really no more of a big deal then just taking care of one.
Just keep in mind that your expenses double, but if that's not an issue, I say go for it!

Depends on a few factors:
money - thats obvious - can you afford to feed/pay vets bills for 2 dogs? Whats your dog like just now, well behaved? If you think your current dog may be easily led astray by another, 2 dogs alone in the house may lead to chaos. Also, does the current dog actually want company? some dont, mine never had it and is used to being alone, she gets a bit territorial around other dogs. Although he is young, so maybe be ok. Ask the vet, or someone better than me, about having a female and a male dog together You'd probably have to get the female neutered, and I dont know what the male would behave like if he wasnt neutered, would he just be a pain in the ass to her? cause thats no good.... Good luck Rock n roll baby

that is called fighting... No, it is not fighting, there is a difference between playing and fighting. After owning cats for over 20 years, trust me, I know. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I think most dogs are happier in pairs (if they're neutered).
If you get another, introduce them in "neutral" territory (ie. a park or something, not your house/yard). oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Depends upon the demeanor of your dog. Aren't dogs pack animals by nature?
Some dogs LOVE being around others...my dog, however, thinks he is a bad ass and wants to beat them up..... He needs to be #1 dog in the household, as we were told that when we adopted him. Certain breeds are like that. If your dog is younger, accepting, and 'plays well with others', go for it! "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."
