I will when I have a proper job, same goes for pension/savings. I'm a student now, and I have, well, nothing! Although realistically I don't see me getting around to it until I'm about 30 say. Or when I have kids, or when I actually have something to leave! Rock n roll baby

Yes. Everyone should have a will. Especially those with children. It also makes things so much easier for the survivors otherwise they have to wait for months to get things settled. With a will, you can ensure that your assests are distributed the way you want them to be and you can name guardians for your children. A will ensures that your wishes are met.

No, I don't need one. I really don't give a damn what happens to my material possessions when I croak.
As for my kids, I have already decided who will care for them and have made those wishes known.

Ex-Moderator | Currently, no.
I keep thinking I don't have anything, but I always forget about my 401k. I suppose if I died tomorrow it would go to my parents? And I suppose that makes sense, as they'd be the ones arranging my funeral and such. |

As for my kids, I have already decided who will care for them and have made those wishes known. But doesn't a will make those wishes binding? Just making your wishes known doesn't mean your kids will be cared for the way you said you wanted. The Normal Whores Club

for me, the reason why i don't have one is:
1) i don't have any dependents 2) don't have anything of real value 3) if i did have anything like that, nobody in my family would be deserving of it. there's my dad, of course, but whatever i'd have wouldn't be of much use for him.

I do too, but after what I put my body through in my late teens and 20's I don't think anyone's gonna want them. |

Well even though, YOU could care less where your earthy possesions go.....the kids just Might care, when they're stuck with the funeral costs and all the rest.....
Also just cuz you VERBALLY tell so and so you want them to get your kids doesn't mean they're gonna. That shit needs to be in writing, if you wanna avoid a big dispute...

As for my kids, I have already decided who will care for them and have made those wishes known. do a will. seriously. it makes those wishes legal, plus you can request what is done with your body when you die. my wishes are to be cremated and NOT to have a ceremony at a funeral home. my mother has made comments that she would make different arrangements if she survives me. i don't want good money going to funeral homes or to grave plots. i think it's wrong. i really need to put this in writing so it will be acknowledged when i'm gone. i feel bad that i haven't done one yet. if there's some kind of kit that makes it less intimidating, i'd totally look into one.
