Can someone explain to me

WTF is wrong with clown?
Why do so many people have fears of clowns?
I mean, they're here to make you laugh, entertain. I can understand people who don't like this kind of entertainment, but what's up with making this a fear?

The feakish makeup, the joker painted smile, and the empty facial expression that gives the impression that they'd be indifferent and crazy enough to chop up your body into pieces.

I feel the same way about ronald mcdonald.

i don't get it either. i have a friend who is DEATHLY afraid of clowns, to the point where she can't even look at a picture of one. i watched stephen king's It as a kid and I'm still not scared of them. lol

you know what does freak me out though?

I'm a bit scared of kids, even though I love them. It's just that they're so unpredictable, that suddenly you find yourself stuck with a screaming baby and no real reason why.

But clowns are just people who were hired to entertain you. Just like hookers.

So you haven't seen Pennywise in action, he gives clowns a bad name every where besides that they're a bit creepy.

I don't know, clowns disturb me but not a lot. Mainly I think it's because it's more difficult to read their facial expressions with all the makeup. Much like people with too much plastic surgery or foundation on. They freak me out too. lol

There was an elderly lady that lived across the street from me when I was little, she was the bitchiest person I knew at the time, she would sit out on her porch dressed as a clown and stare at me and my friends play outside

falloff falloff I don't see what's so bad about clowns. Remember the Bozo show?
You can't tell me there's not a single child who didn't wanna go on the Bozo show and play the grand prize game. lol I know I did.

I think sicko John Wayne Gacy ruined the clown image.

I think the extreme fear of clowns is kind of deep (but that didn't stop me from being annoyed with an ex who suffered from this fear).

Here's my take on it, though I'm likely wrong:

Clowns are presented to children as trustworthy ambassadors of humor and goodwill.

But clowns hide behind makeup and costumes that conceal or obscure their true identities and, by extension, agendas.

Such a lack of directness suggests something sinister to some people, a covert evil borne out by the Pennywise character.

I went to the circus once, and the 2 clowns put a little kid on a pony and had it run around the ring. He was attached to a harness, which one clown pulled up and the kid lifted off the pony and the other clown went to pull him back down and pulled his pants of and exposed his willy to the audience sad
I have never liked clowns ever since that. mad

See? That's what I'm talking about: Some folks view them as traitors, on a deeper level.
