I've always thought that MTV should adopt the all-videos format of MTV2, and MTV2 could be used for shows like "The Real World." It's been at least a year since I've actually seen music videos on MTV.

I used to think the same ting too but not anymore...everyting on MTV is music based and music influenced. All of the shows have a music vibe or music interlaced etc. I think the beginning of MTV being a music VIDEO channel is what has changed (duh). But they never said they were "V"-MTV after all. I mean they havethey have grown...ya know? There are tons of other outlets to watch videos now..hence MTV2, VH!, BET etc etc. I mean how long could they stay with "Im ___ and this next vido is by ___"?

At the same time, their shows r getting WAY off topic..kinda like some of ur threads. (Who cares if u like IHOP?)

Just because they play music in the background of The Real World doesnt mean its music related!

They play music on Jeopardy, that doesn't mean Jeopardy should be on MTV.

Well, as Nep2nes pointed out, what do shows such as "The Real World," "Road Rules," "Undressed," or "Loveline" have to do with music?

At least in the "olden days," the shows did have a music connection, such as the game show "Remote Control" (music trivia). Even Beavis & Butt-head (one of my all-time favorites) featured clips from music videos.

There are tons of other outlets to watch videos now..hence MTV2, VH!, BET etc etc.

The problem with MTV2 is that it doesn't seem to be widely carried on "regular" cable. I've gotten cable from four different providers over the years, and none of them have offered MTV2 as a standard cable channel. I think I could get it if I subscribed to Time Warner's digital cable, though.

I'll bet that MTV2 is available via satellite, but my apartment lacks the necessary line-of-sight to the southeastern sky.

It is. Dish Network has it. The channel is a world better than the mother show; eMpTV.

I deleted the flames from her that I noticed. (I also indicated that I find it confusing when she complains about a flame and then quotes the very same flame in a reply). If there were other flames that I missed, please use the "report message to moderator" function, and we'll look into it. Thanks.

while digital satellite gets VH1 Classics and MTV2, digital cable gets other stuff like MTV X (dropped for Jams?) and genre-specific channels i don't get on DirecTV...

Look up in this thread where she says "who cares if I you like IHOP" as a rude comment meant to be detrimental etc. Not that I care, but if you gonna be deleting shit and all...take care and opay attention to delete ALL formentioned trespasses . Thank youuu.

The problem is that we simply don't have time to review everything that gets posted to the forums. If you use the "Report msg to moderator" system, one of us will check it out and take action (if appropriate). Otherwise, we may never know about it.

If you have an idea for a better system than our current one, please let us know. We'd be interested in hearing your suggestions.

That's hardly a flame. We're not going to delete every little thing that might be seen as derisive. However, when people start calling others "bitch," "heffa," etc... we'll step in. And we have stepped in when Nep2nes has gone too far.

We've spoken to her about this. sigh

Recently? If not then do it again..if so, then put her ass on restriction form posting for 2 weeks. Simple..as..that. Also thank you for being cordial to me.

It is meant to instigate and irritate..see..why yall let the flames get so big that when the forest burns, you try and put out the WRONG fire. Let her ass get the spanking she deserves...aww screw it. She got yall wrapped or sprung and nothing will ever become of it because barking orders in the dark is NO FUN. Aww forget it.

I agree! Remember back in the 80s (specifically, the early 80s) when MTV was ALL ABOUT MUSIC? They showed music videos around the clock, and there were occasional live concerts that were broadcast on the channel. As the 80s wore on,they began developing other shows that had very little to do with music.
