HELP! I want to cut 2 seconds from some mp3 I have...how do I do it?

I've burned my original NPGMC albums to cd. But I burned them using WMP! The shit is that it makes a gap of 2 seconds between songs. What free softwares can I use to deleted these 2 seconds...

sad

In most CD burning software you have the option of not adding the 2 seconds gap between songs.
If you want to edit out a file that has the 2 seconds, use any audio editing software. there are even some free ones, like Audacity for example.

http://www.mptrim.com/ is a free program that automatically cuts silences off the beginning and end of mp3.

I suggest copying the files you want to trim to a new folder. You open the folder with that program and voilĂ , all your mp3s start and end with sound, not silence smile

Now if there was only a program like that to cut out the boring parts of porn movies. smile

Nero does too. Most programs do. just sometimes need to look for it carefully.

No I mean, most programs say the burn gapless, but in reality there's still a barely noticable pause.

nod Preference-Advanced-Recording-Pause between songs: none (it's set to 2 seconds)

I'm translating from Spanish itunes so some words may not be right

It'll burn gapless, unless the silence is part of the file you're burning.

Hmm well foobar uses nero so you're probably right, but I've tried with programs like iTunes and Musicmatch and it wasn't perfect.

To be honest, I just use Wavelab, which is an editing/mastering program, so I wouldn't know about the others, only by what I've been told.

Can any of the programs mentioned do that with .wav (lossless) audio too ?

I have tried several to copy cd tracks to my HD with and always get a gap between the songs

It's really annoying mad

As an iPod user I never had a problem shrug

WavTrim is a WAV file cleaner.

WavTrim is useful:

When you extract a track from an Audio-CD (CD ripping).
Before making MP3s (MP3 encoding).
Before making Audio-CDs (CD burning).

WavTrim is easy to use and automatic. Just select the file(s) you want to clean, and WavTrim does its magic in a few seconds.
WavTrim is free! Download it here. http://www.mptrim.com/WavTrim.html

WavTrim was originally created to help extract audio from CDs.
Audio-CD song extraction is not very accurate (you easily get a little bit of the end of the previous track, or of the beginning of the next track). It is possible to trim each track by hand (using a regular WAV editor software), but that's tedious. So WavTrim first purpose was to scan and clean WAV files, removing silence and any leftover of another track.
