Stompy McBitch - my loud-ass UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR! WHY does he walk around w/ his SHOES on ALL the time?? (we have hardwoods, the shit is noisy however much he weighs)... WHY does he ROLL around in his office chair constantly?? BITCH, put a rug down & then the plastic thingy so it won't be so damn loud!! Mind you, he's better than the chick before him who let her kid bang on pots & slam the cabinets all the time. But damn, doesn't he kinda have to be aware that people live below him? Maybe I'm too conscientious of others or something. I don't only keep my shoes off indoors b/c it's cleaner on the floors/rugs, but b/c it's less noisy for those below me. I, too, have an office chair but I'm very conscious of the time of day whenever I'm in it & I don't just roll around with abandon. In fact, I hardly roll at all - this bitch goes back & forth across the room several times an hour!! It would be one thing if he just did this during "noise" hours but he's often up @ 2 & 3 am w/ this shit At least he's not fuckin' & fightin'... but I hate him still . [Edited 3/22/07 9:13am]

Ex-Moderator | My upstairs neighbors used to have furniture moving parties once a month or so, I swear.
Now I just get annoyed when they stomp stomp STOMP all over the place. But I think I'm getting used to it. I barely notice it now unless I'm trying to sleep. |

I know... I swore I wouldn't live under anyone again after the last time but I had to move in a hurry & this was the best place I saw... thinking about moving up when a unit opens, but the thought of transferring all my shit is just unbearable

Why?

I feel for ya, Calhoun, I have a loud-ass downstairs neighbor. I think all loud-ass people should be housed together in the same building, so they can drive each other crazy. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Dude has his 400lb girlfriend living with him and I call her Miss McStompalot! I had to bring bouncers home from my bar to scare them because after I confronted them they were yelling at me through the window when I was leaving! Floors are hard wood and they never take off their shoes. They slam cabinet doors and drawers all the time and they are constantly dropping things. Now I keep a humidifier on high for background noise and I still hear them. If I don't hear them then it's my bed shaking because they stomp so much. I have come to the realization that people just do not have common courtesy anymore. I pay rent too, mother fuckers! When I come home the shoes are off as soon as I walk in. I try not to slam doors and am careful not to drop things. When I play my music I look outside to see if the tenant downstairs is home before I play it. I give up, I don't know what else to do. I even exchanged phone numbers with this dude so I could call him instead of the landlord. Told him to be quiet after 11pm which is more than generous. Nothing is working. I think I'm going to try and get them kicked out so I can take their apartment. I already spoke to the landlord about them and he was furious. I mean pictures should not come crashing down off my walls...

When I used to live in an apt, I had a neighbor that would leave his alarm clock on in the morning after it went off - this was every day, including weekends and it was loud. I could not stand him and was never so happy to move when my lease was up.

It's true!..if you can hear your neighbour sitting on the toliet taking a dump, that should tell you something...zero soundproofing! If you can hear him he can hear you, so i respect their privacy and piece of mind, sadly others don't do the same! "Waiting to be banned"

i live in an upstairs apartment, but i'm pretty quiet and i take any noise that i make into consideration for those in the space below...but my last downstairs neighbor was hell-bent on insisting that somehow i made too much noise...me AND some of the other tenants in neighboring apartments. the guy was friggin batshit, man, i think he ended up getting evicted a year ago for continuing to harass folks after the landlord told him not to.

Like I hear him pissing ALL THE TIME, why we always end up in the bathroom @ the exact same time I don't know But I never hear a peep from the folks downstairs. But I guess they hear me when I take a dump huh?

I emailed the manager a few weeks ago & he said he would talk to him & find out what was up (it's in the lease that we have to have rugs in each room to lessen the noise). I need to follow up...

With regard to the bathroom though, if you think about it, his noise source is closer to you, than your's (you peeing) is to him. Hes making a noise practically on the floor, as in the ceiling above your head, whereas you're aking a noise a whole room away from him, if you think about it. Did that make sense?! Funny story, true story (honest) my old apartment there was a couple upstairs..so i was sitting on the loo and hear moaning, like...moaning
It was just her, no need to paint a picture as to what she was doing, so i pulled some paper off the loo roll, and it made noise right...and she dropped the vibrator on her bathroom floor! I swear, she then goes into the shower...hehe! "Waiting to be banned"
