I've had enough!!! For the past two years I have been on several differnt anti-deppresants, sleeping pills and anxiety pills. Not too mention I take at least 2 800mg of motrin a day to control the side effects. My depression is at an all time high. I have even been to a shrink. My doc has prescibed a bi-polar med. HELL NO!!! Im done, this shit is not working for me. I fear Im gonna pull an "ANNA NICOLE SMITH".
I fear I will hit rock bottom if I stop all meds, but I just cant take this anymore. Im always sad, crying, and scared. This shit sucks. Anyone know a natural solution to taking meds. ( besides therapy)? Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize u simply imagined this So u lean over and give her a kiss Here on earth, here on earth, with u it's not so bad Here on earth, here on earth eye don't feel so sad Stay right here

Exercise. Movement. Dancing. Music. Finding a connection to God/Spirit/Higher Self. Spending time in nature and in the water. Eating well, no processed foods. Avoiding alcohol and other recreational drugs. Writing, screaming, creating art, any and every possible way of releasing what's inside. The Normal Whores Club

do you work out? seriously. just doing a couple of miles of cardio can work a lot of stress and nasty stuff out of your system. yoga's good for that too, and it's a bit gentler too.

Sorry you're going through this.
Medication definitely made me feel worse. I think it's the absolute last resort, only to be taken if you're a danger to yourself or to someone else. I think the best remedy for the vast majority pf people (which may include you) is exercise, fun, good food, smiling, and trying to avoid dwelling in negative feelings. My Legacy

Oatstraw infusion has been a literal lifesaver for certain people with depression/bipolar symptoms.
www.mountainroseherbs.com sells good-quality dried oatstraw in bulk. 1. Put two handfuls of herb in a clean glass jar (quart-size Mason jar, or an empty tomato sauce jar is fine). 2. Fill to the top with boiling water, cover and let steep overnight. 3. Strain and drink in the morning and throughout the day. I used to drink up to two quarts of this every day during an extremely difficult time for me, and I can't say enough about how much it helped me. The Normal Whores Club

Wow - I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this...
I would suggest asking your GP to recommend a good Psychiatrist (not a Pyschotherapist). Then start by telling your Dr. that your ultimate goal is to live drug-free. If he/she is worth their salt they will do tests to help determine what (if any) medications or suppliments you should be taking. Please remember that this often takes alot of time for drugs to take effect and to find the correct combination. I would not suggest telling you to stop taking any meds at this point, just work at getting to that point. Your Dr will also be able to help determine environment/lifestyle changes that may be effecting you. There are so many options available to you, it is just a matter of finding what works. You are an individual and your depression should be treated to your specific needs. I know it sound like a long process - it is! But hang in there, you owe it to yourself and those who love you. ~When you understand why you dismiss all other gods, then you will understand why I dismiss yours~

Listen to Anx. Exercise give you a NATURAL high. It releases endorphins and serotonin which make you feel great.

( besides therapy)? excercise Find somebody in real life to talk to -- the Internet is not a healthy place in my opinion when you're in this state. Some hollistic health pros think that your mood is directly linked to something youre' consuming as well as your environment. Try cutting meat out of your diet for a few days to see if you feel better. Then reintroduce meat one at a time to see if there is a link. Spirituality. It ALWAYS helps.

SOrry to hear that all that medication is not helping you. If it's not helping you, I think it's time to change or stop taking them. My mom was on all kinds of medication as she was Bi-Polar. And she had chronic everything else too. Not to mention that the meds made her gain MAD weight (Back in the 80's it was one of the side effects).
It turned to be that on the days she felt good, the meds would bring her down and she'd sleep all day. So she started to self medicate. Not sure to what extent, as no one really paid attention. But I am sure on her bad days she took the proper dosage and on the good ones a lighter dosage. You can't do that as it will mess up the chemical imbalances. I'll never forget her Pill Basket filled with all kinds of stuff. She eventually got put on some newer meds. If not taken properly i.e. self medicating, one could have an asthma attack. Well she was asthmatic to begin with. She had an asthma attack in her sleep and passed. I think it was a little of the side effect AND that she had more pills to keep a small nation . So, I think too many meds is not a good thing. Christian Zombie Vampires

Lots of good recommendations here
Meditation and excersize are so under rated when it comes to this condition. Eating well and NO Alcohol or drugs. Maintaining a good sense of being and mental health are key to getting through the rough parts. And you will feel fabulous during the not-so-rough parts. Basically what you are doing is readying yourself for those periods that are going to come regardless. But these things will help greatly in cutting back the duration and severity. Also having a good and sane and stable home life is a MUST MUST MUST. While my Dad was loving and caring towards her, He never understood what it was she was going through. Nor did he do any changes to his behavior that might trigger or worsen how she felt. Granted he was not an enlightened individula nor was he that educated, so he basically went about his life the same way he did before she was diagnosed. Still had temper tantrums, badgered her about the bills (she wasn't even working) among other things. Basically his behavior didn't help at all. I really think this is tantamount for this to ready and steady itself. I have talked to ohters who have Manic Depression and they agree, homelife happiness and understanding make things a lot easier to deal with. I do hope things get better for you. Being Bi-Polar is rough. Christian Zombie Vampires
