I've burned my original NPGMC albums to cd. But I burned them using WMP! The shit is that it makes a gap of 2 seconds between songs. What free softwares can I use to deleted these 2 seconds...

In most CD burning software you have the option of not adding the 2 seconds gap between songs.
If you want to edit out a file that has the 2 seconds, use any audio editing software. there are even some free ones, like Audacity for example.

http://www.mptrim.com/ is a free program that automatically cuts silences off the beginning and end of mp3.

I suggest copying the files you want to trim to a new folder. You open the folder with that program and voilà, all your mp3s start and end with sound, not silence

Can any of the programs mentioned do that with .wav (lossless) audio too ?

I have tried several to copy cd tracks to my HD with and always get a gap between the songs

WavTrim was originally created to help extract audio from CDs.
Audio-CD song extraction is not very accurate (you easily get a little bit of the end of the previous track, or of the beginning of the next track). It is possible to trim each track by hand (using a regular WAV editor software), but that's tedious. So WavTrim first purpose was to scan and clean WAV files, removing silence and any leftover of another track.
