to be really honest, i don't care!

and i don't mean that to sound rude or flip, but if someone doesn't like me online or wherever, it's kind of an inhibitor for getting along, and that takes time and energy away from me enjoying the people who DO like me.

so screw 'em! biggrin

I think there are different degrees of like, but yes I can usually tell if someone doesn't like me. I'd rather concentrate on the people that do like me.

I think so, but then, you never can tell really, cause the people I think don't like me, I've never met - so I could just be reading them wrong shrug

Yes. And, I've even encounter this...

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hand a banana on the string from the ceiling and place a set of stairs under it.

Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the monkeys with ice-cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result - all of the monkeys are sprayed with ice-cold water. Pretty soon, when yet another monkey can't resist trying to climb the stairs, all the other monkeys aggressively try to prevent it. Now, turn off the cold water, remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new monkey.

The new monkey sees the banana and immediately wants to climb the stairs. To it's surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack it. It tries again and is attacked again. It realizes that if it tries again, it will be assaulted. Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attached. The previous newcomer too, takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm.

Again, replace a third original monkey with a new one. The new one makes it to the stairs and is attacked by all. Two of the four monkeys that beat him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs, or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing the fourth and fifth original monkeys, all the monkeys that have been sprayed with ice-cold water will have been replaced. Nevertheless, without knowing the reason why, no monkey will ever approach the stairs again. Why? Because as far as they know that's the way it's always been around here.

WillyWonka

In real-life situations I usually can detect when I am unliked, although there have been instances where my assumption was later shown to be incorrect.

Online interactions are difficult to decipher and many times not worth the effort to understand, and so I chalk certain behaviours of others up to either ignorance of manners or mere rudeness and not attribute anything more meaningful to it than that.
