Factotum? any body seen it?

How does it rate with the film Barfly - with micky rourke.
Barfly was also inspired by Bukowski
I thought the trailer 2 Factotum looked promising.
Anybody seen it?

I'm easily confused.. what was the unedited version?

Can't say I've ever used 1. I tend to think of myself as adventurous.

Wouldn't b quite sure how too, but with the right mentor I'd surely give it a try.

It's pretty good, I preferred it to "Barfly", though Matt Dillon isn't as convincing a Chinaski as Rourke. They leave some of the best bits of the book out, as well

Bukowski is my fave author

Over the years I've read quite a bit of his stuff, he's a little too gritty, and at times too self-loathing 4 me.

Still. he does have a rare angle on beauty.
Great stuff for a healthy teen.
Thanks 4 the post

I own the DVD of this movie. It's a stunner. Rourke captured a bit more of that gin-soaked Bukowski essence than Matt Dillon does, but it's also worth noting that Bukowski HATED "Barfly" and this movie had the full support of Bukowski's family. Lili Taylor is wonderful in this as well...even though I don't approve of the K-Mart cotton panties she wears.

Bukowski is not Bukowskis family
