If I have to look really presentable, I go to the dry cleaner and they press stuff for a fairly cheap price. I enjoy ironing, it goes hand in hand with doing laundry which I like also.

HATE it. The most boring of household tasks. But I have to do it ; I couldn't go out in wrinkly clothes.

I used to spend hours doing piles of the stuff but then had a 'WTF?!' moment and only do it as and when now. Much more satisfying.

Hate, hate, hate ironing, but I do it daily. I now launder my own dress shirts because the dry cleaner was forever breaking buttons and shrinking shirts. It's a pain in the ass, but my shirts last much longer.

There's a Japanese word - "kawai" - which is difficult to translate but basically means "cute". Everything in Japan is kawai; the clothes, the people, the food, the design... even my credit card there had little blue and pink elephants on it. So I think in Japan's case, it might be that the ironing boards had to be kawai as well. Plus it's the challenge you mentioned. They love their little games.

So do you have one of these boards as well, and if so, do you sit on the floor and do the ironing or do you put the whole board on a table? I didn't really have a proper table most of the time, so I used sit on the floor - and since the board was so small, the shirt would be swept around the floor as I was ironing, gathering every single dust particle that might be there.

I haven't ironed in ages, but on the odd occasion I have I sat on the floor. Mon sits out in the middle room, which is a dusty mess of a room, irons the clothes sitting down, then puts the finished clothes on the floor next to her.

I'm with you CS...Ironing don't make sense to me.

I usually throw my clothes in the dryer while I'm in the shower...
by the time I'm done, they're done...u just gotta watch out for the
