How do you do this boring ass shit?? confused I'm putting up new curtains - 3 down, 1 to go & I'm about to lose my shit pissed It's just so stupid, I wish I had a steamer mad

I swear if I had a job that required me to wear nice, wrinkle free shit? I'd turn my cable off just to keep all that stuff @ the dry cleaners/laundry. There's no way in hell I could do this every day, or a big load once a week. I'd go mad stab

I hate ironing. My Nan tried to teach me and I managed to worm my way out of doing it. She kept going on about yokes on shirts and I just drifted off thinking about yummy boiled eggs with dippy soldiers.

Ironing is okay. I hate other stuff way more than that. BTW Calhoun, try ironing for three people everyday.

When I lived in Japan, I had to wear perfectly ironed shirts to work. I decided that instead of doing it every day, I would iron five shirts every Friday night after work, so I wouldn't have to worry about it until the end of the following week.

Those Friday afternoons became a big pain though. Since the Japanese ironing boards are less than half the length of a regular shirt and only one foot high, it took me at least 30 bloody minutes for each shirt. And then there were the ties and the pants... confused More than three hours were wasted on that crap each time. disbelief

i kind of like ironing once in a while. but, usually garments, so the reward is immediate, i get to wear the shirt and skirt, or whatever. and the material sort of smells good.

curtains doesn't sound like fun though.

I used to iron my clothes a lot.....even jeans and t-shirts. Now, I try to get my clothes out of the dryer immediately so I don't have to iron. I hate ironing table cloths.....I'm mean those huge ones for events. I have to help my mom out when she does events and receptions, and ironing an assload of table cloths is always hell. lol We really need a steamer for something like this.

That's my method nod yank them as soon as their dry & lay them flat. Whatever crinkles are left usually fall while in the closet or being worn... I think confused

I like to iron, I just don't have enough time to iron everything like sheets.

I LOVE sheets that have been ironed. They are so smoothy smooth and smell so good. I need need to make more money so I can have someone iron my sheets.

I know those ironing boards. lol Even though they could just be made bigger it's like someone just decided to make them too small as some kind of fun challenge.

Ours sits about 8 inches off the ground and is about 3 ft long. Too long to travel with, too small to iron with.

Mine is about the same. I could get a big ironing board, but then there's storage and all that and I have a small apartment.

I don't mind ironing, actually. I only do it right before I have to wear something. It's part of the getting dressed ritual for me. So I'm generally ironing in just my underthings. giggle

If I ever live with someone again I'm going to have to change a lot of habits. confused

Not necessarily LARGE things though. hmm My first job I ever had at 15 was pressing and steaming wedding gowns for the brides to pick up later. lol

I actually really liked it. nod Maybe I got it from my grandma. She worked in a pressing factory for many years way back in the day. Not sure she liked that job though. confused She burned the whole top of her hand off. disbelief
