ummmm that's hard to decide, they're all good in thier own ways. I suppose cats because when I was recovering from surgery our cats stayed with me the whole time, sometimes all of them, sometimes one while the others took a break but at least one stayed constantly . And since I had so many surgeries it was a recovery time of around 15 weeks. My dog was with me a lot too, especially at night , but the cats actually took turns.
