Police: Tips From Students Led To Arrest

MUNCIE, Ind. -- An eighth-grader at Wilson Middle School in Muncie, Ind., faces expulsion after admitting that he spiked a teacher's coffee with urine last Friday, according to Indaniapolis TV station WRTV.

Investigators said the student thought the incident was a prank, but school officials and police are taking it very seriously.

The boy was suspended and arrested following the incident. The school's principal said the teacher detected a foul smell and did not drink the coffee.

"Obviously, this was a very dumb thing. It also was very cruel," said Stephen Edwards, assistant superintendent of Muncie schools. "The act itself was a very cruel act."


Police and school officials were able to find out who contaminated the coffee because of help from other students. At least one student overheard other students talking about the incident and reported it.

Investigators said a vial of urine was found in the student's locker and that he eventually confessed in the case.

Only one teacher's personal coffeepot was targeted, but officials felt the matter was serious enough that they mailed a letter to parents Tuesday explaining what took place and explaining that similar incidents won't be tolerated.

"I think it's nasty and ridiculous," said parent Juanita Thomas Wilson. "Whomever the student is should be expelled from school, I believe."

The student is being held in juvenile detention and is expected to go into a diversion program.

I mean wtf, why would you leave a glass of anything sitting around for anyone to do anything to it.
I dont care where Im at or what it is im drinking, i dont leave any beverage unattended for one second. And if i do, it goes straight in the trash upon my return. Some one could sneeze or cough on it at the least, the way people are filthy and have no manners in covering thier noses/mouths. AND Especially around a bunch of bratty kids at that. GEESH!
Hopefully she learned her lesson.

eww! this reminds me: when i was in 7th grade, we had this art teacher named ms. bittner. she was a total bitch and morbidly obese, so naturally most of the kids made her the ass of their jokes.

anyway, supposedly one of the kids in her class left a tack in her chair so she'd sit on it. she sat down...but didn't feel the tack at all.

in fact if i recall, she screamed her ass off and got real red in the face, she was one of the ones you could get her goat real easy. She was actually , for an old lady not bad looking. But she would get so mad when we'd call he thunder thighs, or if she just heard the phrase she'd get all red. But I dont recall anything happening far as a punishment.

I'll bet the first thing the principal said to this young man was "Urine a heckuva lot of trouble now, boy!

Well, being a student once myself I think its awfully damn bold to think you can do something so disgusting & get away w/ it. I do think there should be a punishment for this kid - yea he's young & dumb but that shit is disgusting. I really don't feel much for him & his parents if he gets kicked out of the school

Well if the teacher's stupid enough to leave a drink unattended then he/she had it coming... you gotta live in the kids' world, if you forget that you become a bad teacher.
