GOURD Art

hmmm I am trying my hand at this ...

Is it that shape naturally, or did you carve it? If you cut the top off, it would be a beautiful vase...

That's how that type gourd grows ( we grew around 4-6 different kinds and have around 40 gourds that are dry and ready !! ) no carving on that one yet

it would make a nice vase smile

TR used a razor blade type craft knife to cut his ( I have no clue what it's really called )

you can use a wood burning tool to carve the surface artwork on them

would it stand up to an electric drill?
(not the one you painted of course, that's too pretty
but a different one for another project)

i envision a whole bunch of holes drilled all over and the top cut off
then use it as a hurricane lantern with a pillar inside for your spring fling woot!
