Women, Boy Injured In Home By Cat Attack

Pair Of Strays Put Down After Assault

POSTED: 12:32 pm CDT March 15, 2007

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Two stray cats have been put to sleep in Nebraska after they went into a house and attacked three people.

One animal control officer said he'd never seen anything like it.

The cats went through an open front door and attacked two women and a boy. The animals scratched the child's face and ears, drawing blood. The women were attacked on their legs.

Both cats were shot, tranquilized and taken to an animal shelter, where they were euthanized. The bodies were sent to Lincoln for rabies tests.

Authorities are checking to see if anyone owned the cats. Under laws of the area, cats can run free if they don't become nuisances.

my dad said a snail reared up on it's hind parts and tried to attack him. Well, that is what he insisted when my mum asked him why he had to splat it across the kitchen window.

The only psycho cat I ever knew--the only one I was ever truly afraid of--was frightening because she could be lovey dovey one moment, and then attacking you out of nowhere the next. Most cats, if they don't like you, they're not confrontational--they'll go off away. This cat was AGGRESSIVE as HELL. You could just be sitting in the other room, no threat to her at all, and she'd come to find you to GETCHA. eek

I've never seen a cat go *looking* for someone to attack before...

Generally, with the mean ones, it's more like you wander up on them and they go "Well, you're here... I guess you'll do."

No shit, me neither, till this cat! I always thought that people attacked by cats didn't know cats or touched them wrong or wouldn't leave them alone. Most of the time, I think that's the case. But this cat was really territorial and a little..."off".

Well, cats - just like any animal - can have mental issues I guess. Sometimes, you never know how they were previously treated, as well.

Yeah, I know. She'd (the cat) only ever had just the one owner, though--my cousin. I think they left her alone too much and she went coo coo for cocoa puffs in the form of becoming overly territorial and jealous of any attention my cousin gave others in the home.

Yeah, you can't calm a cat down by stroking their ego. Makes it tough.

I had decided to let that one go, but it is fuckin' funny.

The more viscous ones are certainly more challenging, as far as that hose goes. lol
