Maybe someday I'll learn to kayak and we can kayak all over the damn place here. Seriously, every 50 feet there's a new body of water to test out. lol

Or we could always just rent a canoe and tool around Lake of the Isles. But I suppose to a kayaker that's lame. neutral

I'll admit that I don't think canoes are much fun in comparison.

Kayaking on a lake isn't hard at all, though. You wouldn't need to learn much before doing it.

I don't think I'm really the kayaking kind. I have no upper body strength. And I'd probably fall over a lot.

ok, I change my mind. Seattle's great.

You can kayak with whales and shit. shrug

Correct.

And we get less rain than NYC, which people are apparently allowed to visit, so. . . shrug

I'll take NYC though. It has mad ass there.

It's very easy to kayak. Yes, you get a bit worn out the first few times, but you adapt. And, it requires less upper body strength than you think.

Plus at 500 calories an hour, it's a great form of cardio.

Yes, Jimi Hendrix was born here in Seattle. Bruce Lee born in San Francisco, Died in Hong Kong and was layed to rest here, forever in eternity. Jimi was layed in rest here too. Underground. Still Jimi's sound circles the globe. Kurt Cobain used to live here. We can't seem to find him anymore for some reason? Where did he go? I've been here for 20 years. And will forever. Amen.

Well, after being in Vegas for 2 years, I'm really looking forward to things like clouds and showers actually.

Thanks for the advice. Kayaking with whales? Where?

Puget Sound. How likely you are to see them depends on the time of year, but there are little companies that have lookouts for them and conduct kayak tours, if you want to increase your odds.

And Jimi and Bruce are buried there

There's a statue of Jimi kneeling on the sidewalk on the main drag through my neighborhood, and I noticed the other day that he has bird shit or something on a very unfortunate spot on his ass. I keep thinking I oughta clean the man up. lol

That's a nice statue (bird shit and all). giggle

Seattle orger right here! biggrin

I recommend checking out my favorite bar/bistro, Bleu, on Capitol Hill. It's dark, quirky, and the food is fantastic. The drink menu is 10 times the size of the food menu, and very creative.

Have fun here! I think you'll like it. I hid from the rain today. I don't mind splashing in it tho. I've got some kick ass leopard print rain boots!

West Seattle up in here.

I would come prepared if you visited. Skip "looking like a tourist". Do like home-skillet here and look dry.

There's a little cafe 11th and Pike called Pettirosso. Been there? Excellent coffee and a veggie BLT that may not be QUITE as killer, but still worth it when you're in more of a coffee mood than a vodka mood.
