If many people have the same "misconceptions" about you, it's probably not that much of a misconception.

When several people have the same perception of me and it's not one that I like, I take a good hard look at myself to see why they feel the way they feel instead of brushing it off and saying, "oh well, they're just wrong".

That said, people who don't know me well think I am cold, arrogant and snobby and I admit fully that this is an air I give off. It bothers me that people think that but at the same time it doesn't cuz I guess that's just me to a certain degree. Those who get to know me find out that I also have some good qualities.

More than a few people here think I'm some kind of racist, but I'm not.

I actually can relate to what you are saying as I have thought the same thing many times. Because I am a strong personality, and not overly openly emotional, people tend to think that I don't feel things on a deep personal level...but of course I do.

There are a couple of common misconsceptions people have of me that I find intriguing. One is due to the fact that I am pretty sociable and always wanting to find out more about people. People find this to be weird and think I have some sort of agenda, when in all actuallity, I'm really just an outgoing guy with lots of love for the world.

The other common misconceptions is folks tend to mistake my kindness for weakness. I could write a whole book about this, but shall digress?
