I am on topic. In my inner world, I engage in badinage on the Internet, whilst spanking it to Kylie Minogue's bottom.

Do you believe that I engage in badinage on the Internet, whilst spanking it to Kylie Minogue's bottom, in your inner or outer world?

Do you have an "innie" or an "outtie"?

OK, so seriously, I was driving along today in my car, listening to a song I like, and my heart was swelling with joy, for no particular reason other than I was driving along listening to a song I like, and I can't share that with anyone, I couldn't even begin to tell someone how happy I was. My inner world, sometimes a bit of a rollercoaster, but also filled with these moments.

Intense happiness is a great feeling. It can be difficult to articulate those emotions because you cant find the words to do them justice. I think your demeanour can convey it though, just seeing that look on a persons face.

My inner world looks out its peephole and wonders at the insanity that passes for normalcy. Then it feels quite smug and chuckles to itself in a self-satisfied way, marveling at how easy it is to manipulate people. Then it pats itself on the back for using its powers for good instead of evil.

nod and how can you explain that you feel that way for no real reason? biggrin I would love to hear that others get this too now and then, I would hope so. Since I don't believe in happiness as a constant state, though I think you can bank your happiness moments and refer to those.

I dont think you need a reason. I agree that happiness is not a constant, in fact I think its fleeting (not to sound morbid) I think we need those moments to help us deal with despair, to draw them out of our memories and sedate us when we need it lol. I think one of the rarest states is a feeling of complete inner peace, that feeling when your mind is empty except for this tranquility, like all your emotions have converged into one and life is perfect.

Yes, absolutely happiness is fleeting, and I truly think those who expect happiness to be a constant state are only going to make it difficult for themselves to even achieve that neutral, even level (call it peace, or call it contentment). I think the search or expectation for happiness will most likely lead to discontent and sadness.
