That's right I said it.....GET THAT DAMN CELL PHONE OUT OF YOUR EAR AND DRIVE YOUR DAMN CAR!!!!

Over 90% of the time when someone cuts me off, or runs a stop sign or red light, or is driving erratically like going real slow or crossing into other lanes....the person has a damn cell phone shoved in their ear and don't even realize what they did !

I used to think that what is the big deal with driving while on the phone, I mean I listen to music and have conversations with passengers in the car with no problem. But from what I have seen, cell phones make people more idiotic than they already are.

Normally I want the government to stay out of our damn lives but in this case, it is for the public good and safety to ban cell phone use while driving.

There I have vented, now I can go back to work.

It's illegal in most places. Too bad there's not enough done to make sure people follow the rules. Like a huge ticket or taking their liesence for a month or more.

The chick on the train the other day talked to her girlfriend on the phone for over an hour. Her two young daughters couldn't get her attention no matter what they did. Some people were reading, trying to sleep or working on laptops but we all had to listen to her talk about her friends custody battle and how shitty her "baby daddy" is. I felt sorry for those two little girls. They wanted to ask her stuff but she just kept nudging them away from her and told them to shut up a few times. It's disgusting.

my solution now is that i use my horn very liberally.

whenever i see the first sign of another vehicle moving into my lane, or about to pull out from a stopsign into my path without looking, i lean on that horn and scare the moron into fucking noticing what's going on around them

it's rude but it works and it's probably saved my ass more than once.

It just happened again....not to me but I was just going to lunch and a mini-van looked like it was going to merge out of the freeway on-ramp swerved back over abruptly almost forcing the car behind it to run off the road.

I speed up to get along side the mini-van (could have been a bad move on my part since the driver was all over the road) and sure enough she had a damn cell phone stuck in her ear and a big dumb smile on her face....totally oblivious to the accident she almost caused.

I was laughing my ass off since I just created this thread about it.

Those drivers are a hazzard to everyone around them. They drive below the speed limit and by the way they are driving they are not paying attention to the road and their surroundings.

I agree. People who use Phones as they drive should be head butted to death. It boggles my mind that people find it so necessary to answer their phones at such inappropriate times. What did people do before these things existed. Some bizarre phone rituals

A group of friends in a bar - neither of them speaking to each other, instead all texting people who they arent with.

Your in a conversation with someone when their phone goes and they just blank u and answer it. Whats worse, It transpires its just another friend talkin shit on the end of the line.

The worst - Phones in restaraunts! i will gauge some fuckers eye out with my desert spoon if they answer their phone at the table - "what? yeah im just in a restaraunt, mate!"

My favorite is pedestrians using cellphones and crossing the street against the light and almost getting hit by a car.

I've heard more than one story about a pedestrian that was killed by oncoming traffic because they were too busy talking on their cell phone to notice where they were going.

People don't take driving seriously anymore. I can't wait for the day that people no longer control their cars on the freeway but rather they are controlled by some sort of tracks (mechanical or electronic) in the freeway. It's way too dangerous to just have millions of people weaving in and out of traffic.

Then we can talk on our phones and use our laptops and no one will get hurt.

Anything that can distract you from driving should e banned. Oral sex too. Well, maybe not EVRYTHING.
