I think I just found out why some folks dislike Hotmail. I figured out how to set up a Yahoo email account using my first and last name, so I went to delete the Hotmail email account. When I went to delete it, I got a message, the last paragraph read: "If your account stays 'inactive' for over a period of days, it will be permanently deleted. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity. Additionally, due to the limited number of names available, we may allow other users to sign up for and use your current e-mail name after your account has been permanently deleted.  WTH, is that even legal?? It doesn't seem right to let someone else use your first and last name, if it's not even theirs. I can see a family member or close friend being allowed to use it from time to time, perhaps, but not a complete stranger. So I did not delete the account, simply because I don't want someone else fraudulently using my first and last name email account as their own. I would hope that hotmail would not reuse someone's proper name as an email address, but you never know.RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |

Hotmail works just fine for me. I get maybe 2-3 spam messages a week and it's filtered to my junkmail so I don't even see it.
I have a gmail account but I never, ever use it. | |
