I don't have that bank. But I still don't trust none of um. I have put money in accounts via ATM's, but no more than $20 $40. Anything over I go inside the building and get a look and a receipt in hand. I never trust the ATM. I debit when possible. Carry some cash. But not much. I like too debit from account, but not take out cash. I let it ride in there for the most part. Sorry you got a hassle goin on with your bank, Muse. It can be a big stress when things just get messed up on their own. It will be okay. Just keep tabs on all of um. Trying not to sound, petro. Good luck! twocents heart

My friends laugh at me because I've never used an ATM in my life(and never will). Call me old skool, but I want the teller to hand me my money.

Muse.....I work for an ATM network (sadly, not B of A's or I'd personally try to help you get your problem solved), and YES, ATM's are very safe to use, provided they are in well lit, low crime areas of course.

Have no fear, you will not lose any money and the transaction will (at some point) be rectified. In your case, you may be assisted by the bank seeing a malfunction on the machine, which often requires a tech to go fix it. When that occurs, they can usually verify the presence of additional funds or deposit envelopes submitted (which is all B of A really has to do, confirm the actual deposit). Great thing you got a receipt, because they can track that transaction by the ATM # or the transaction #. Even if you didn't they could see any activity or machine faults on that specific ATM for several days. So they should have seen you input a deposit attempt and complete a transaction, good or bad (they probably did see the transaction, but the machine likely will tell them it didn't take an envelope when it did). It also could be a matter of the bank and/or it's processor not uploading the proper balance update files to their account listings on their system or to other ATM networks (we're all intertwined usually through various major networks like Pulse, Honor, Visa, etc).

Normally, issues like these should take less than 7 business days. Less if a tech gets dispatched to the atm site in a timely fashion. Sounds like you may have gotten a department that didn't specifically handle ATM transactions or ATM monitoring. Make sure that you call the number on the back of your card to get to the right area for proper help. If that doesn't help, don't hesitate to lean on your branch manager for assistance.

You shouldn't have to do any legwork unless you decide to cancel checks or something. Just stay on top of the ATM division of your bank and they are the ones who have to fix the balance. Beleive me, every dollar that goes in and out of ATM are closely recorded, so any discrepancies at all are pinpointed.

If you have any questions or need any additional info, don't hesitate to PM me for my email addy. Good luck getting your moneys posted. If they drag their feet, make it well known that you will withdraw your funds and patronize one of their competitors. Banks are in a major C.S. competition.
