applekisses said: Anx said: same thing here. and i can't pretend to be charmed by an evil bratty kid, just because the normal protocol is to be all "oh, look at this precious little bundle of joy!" screw that. if you're a brat, you get the stink-eye. Ditto. They get the stink eye AND their parents get it. When my godson first started day care we found out that one of the other kids there bit him - his name was Bryce and he was my godson's age at the time (just over one) - well, we were out one day and saw bitey Bryce and his parents downtown and it was pretty obvious why Bryce was continuing to display such assholish behavior. [Edited 3/13/07 20:25pm] i used to work at a drug store and this woman asked me to help her with her son. he was sitting on the floor pouting and wouldn't get up. she said "he won't listen to me!" i said "pick his ass up and make him!" she did just that and walked out the door... shame

I love love LOVE children! I love to play with other people's kids, and I can't wait to have my own! I have a soft spot for special needs kids especially.
The one's who are little hellions do get on my nerves, so I just ignore them. Or lock them in a dark closet. J/K! Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

I've got two teens, ten months apart...I tried to raise them to be courteous and polite...mannered...and from what folks tell me they are pretty good....so I like my kids.....others.....not so much....
but I've always blamed parents for raising their kids like wolves.....and as mean as it may sound, though I've never physically done it, I've mentally tripped each and every little brat running around in stores and restaurants.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
(George Eliot) the video for the above... http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

i don't mind kids, i just wouldn't be able to stand to have any of my own. would you babysit? i did when i was younger--the couple who lived across the alley from me and my folks had 3 kids that i used to babysit sometimes during the summer. luckily they were all well-behaved and really cool, so it was no problem.

Ehh...
They're cool but I don't like to be around lots of kids for long periods of time - the noise/energy level is just fucking annoying for some/many people who don't have kids & aren't used to it...

No. Even my niece and nephew work my nerves and I only have to see them about once a year. (I used to like kids, but 8 years of lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons to all kinds of brats cured me.) The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
