Are you brave or a bit of a pussy? I think I have an inner courage. I recall having a tooth pulled out at the dentist without any complaint. This was after a brace I had fitted around the back of my lower jaw to straighten a tooth failed. I dont usually cry out in pain or show signs of discomfort generally. I think this is because Id feel ashamed if I did!
How about you? | |

I'm not brave around spiders. Though I have been trying to be. Its all mind over matter Carrie Like I can stick my hand in boiling water and feel no pain, unless of course I think about it. When I was young I wasnt allowed injections at the dentist so had to have fillings just without.. And if I got physically hurt, I just had to stand up for myself and not cry.. or fight back harder. I lived the kinda thing.. if you dont know how to swim well we will just throw you in the deep end.. now learn!!!!

My physical pain tolerance is incredibly high, but I don't know that I count that as 'bravery'. |

In some circumstances, like dentistry, I do what has to be done. Plus they put all that numbing medicine in so it doesn't hurt as much.
For situations that could be dangerous: encountering a rattlesnake on a trail run, I'm cautious. I'll wait until the thing slithers off rather than try to go around. Sometimes common sense takes over.

I don't have a lot to be brave about, I guess. Some might say getting up and just living life alone every day is brave. I don't see myself running into any burning buildings to save a random stranger, so in that sense, I don't think I'm brave. But if I have to face something I usually will. I've had periods of deep depression in my life where I've not gotten out of bed for days at a time. Some might call that rather cowardly. I don't know. |
