Jolly Rancher Sour Bolt Blasts

This stuff may be worse than heroin. In fact, I hear this is Amy Winehouse's favorite candy. disbelief

Anyway, I'm hooked on these things. They're sour jolly ranchers that are hollow in the middle and are full of sour powder that seeps out when you put them in your mouth.

Yes, I'm sure the psychosexual ramifiations of this candy and my love of it are overwhelming, but shut up.

Has anyone else tried this stuff? Don't. It's a one way road. No U-turns. It's like the "Requiem for a Dream" of candy. It's too yummy for its own good.

Thanks for the warning - since I usually have the same tastes as you when it comes to foods, sugary snacks and drinks..I best stay away from those....

I did buy me some Yerba Mate tea started drinking last night. I must say I am liking it so far. thumbs up!

what kind of yerba mate did you get? roasted or regular? i personally like the roasted kind better because it kinda reminds me of coffee. either kind is great for you, though...i hope it keeps catching on. i'd love for it to be easier to find.

and STAY AWAY FROM THE SOUR JOLLY RANCHERS - don't make the same mistake i did! lol

I found some organic Mate tea in the health food store by my house that says unsmoked??...so it was the only one they had so I bought it. biggrin

I will heed your warning and stay away from the Jolly Ranchers..I have enough jolting addictions right now...
This morning I HAD to make my Dunking Donuts coffee (which must contain crack as well) then I told myself if I drank that then I had to drink my Yerba tea after that so I think I am good in the jolt category...also I just ate a peice of organic 75% cocoa dark chocolate...I am surprised I can sleep at night.
And to think 3 yrs ago I had never consumed caffeine - except for the occassional peice of dark chocolate...
WOW- I am slipping... neutral

ya know what i love about yerba mate?

the stuff is so potent, you can use the same leaves for at least two pots.

i've been on writing jags where i'd fill up a bodum with mate, drink the whole thing, then add more hot water and it would get just as dark as the first pot and taste just as good.

i guess the tradition is to fill a dried gourd (bombilla) with mate and you just keep filling it with water all day. i have a bombilla but it's way too little to do me any good. i gotta drink coffee or tea out of a giant mad hatter mug. lol

Do you ever drink it cold?

I am just thinking as it gets warmer here in Florida I will probably slack off on my tea and coffee for a while through the heat of the summer.

i've only had it cold accidentally when a cup of it has been sitting out for too long and i'm too lazy to heat it back up. lol

i've never thought about what it would taste like properly prepared as iced tea.

I am hoping it will help stabilize my appetite- Last year I went from 136 in Jan 06' to 104 November 06' to 115 now... I am up and down all of the time. I go from never wanting to eat to starving through out the year- I am like a snake I have been told.

Yeah.. I wish... sadly we do not have any good studies going on right now. Just Bladder Control, Alzheimers, Depression, IBS, Fibromyalgia, Birth Control and Acne...

No good controlled substances at this time... confused

I would rather do studies on Yerba Mate tea!! shrug

Never understood why people like 'sour' sweets (excuse the oxymoron) but its true! i mean, they're called 'sweets' not 'sours'!

well, they're sweet and sour. if they were sour without any kind of sweetness involved, that would be kind of gross. though i like sucking on limes, so maybe i should switch to that.
