I was a BIG wrestling fan as a teen in the 80's!
Hulk Hogan, Brutus "the barber" Beefcake, Junkyard Dog, Ultimate Warrior, etc..

Then I switched to WCW because I grew tired of the soap operas that Vince McMahon was scripting in the WWF. I went to a few shows during the time that the N.W.O. was wreaking havoc. It was the best!

Then when Ted Turner sold WCW to McMahon, I kept watching it... but no longer b/c I just can't take those stupid storylines! I think that I started tuning out when Vince's wife was "raped" by a wrestler (can't remember who) ...and OFFICIALLY stopped watching when Vince was having people (literally) kiss his ass.

He's one of the few newer wrestlers I find excited. See, I like the whole make-up, and character thing. It's a lot more interesting than someone like a Z-man type going out there, imo. lol

There was an anti-climatic match between Renzo Gracie & Frank Shamrock a few weeks ago.

Video here: http://uncutvideo.aol.com...3b?index=0

The 3 matchs ahead of this one were actually pretty good.
Including a women's match.

He must have iron fists, because I swear it never looks like he really subdues anyone LONG ENOUGH for him to mug for the crowd, do the three step hop, the arm swing thing AND THEN the worm, while the crowd spells out W-O-R-M....

To tell you the truth TA, UFC was far more dangerous in the early year before they started regulating the weight classes. Back in the late 80's/early 90's, I watch Royce Gracie fight this guy that was more than 300 lbs. at least and standing at 6' 2" (I think). And little Royce STILL beat the living hell out of that dude and made him tap out!!! Classic! lol

Have u seen his movie "Moment of Truth"? He explains why he didn't go to the WWE, basically saying he knew if he went, he would be buried like they've done to other WCW legends. You remember what they did to Dusty Rhodes in the 80s..

A few years ago, The Rock admitted publicly that he was interested in working a match with Sting.

But to tell you the truth, the real dream match I wish to see is Sting vs. The Undertaker.

That's the Gracie era I was referring to. Pre weight classes, rounds, time limits.
That match was one of the longest in the "old UFC" history.
The wrestler had Gracie in a ball against the Octagon wall for what seemed like forever.
Out of nowhere, the wrestler just tapped out. Gracie had put the death-grip on him some how.

The good old days. wink

I've seen the home video a couple of years ago. Even after Bret accepted the invitation to be inducted in the WWE HOF, he still didn't want to have anything to do with Shawn Michaels. The bad blood between those men off-camera is too real. disbelief
