I need some help with sunburn...

I have not gotten sunburned in ages, I have a rather dark complexion, but today as I was outside running this soccer game, I got the shit burned out of my neck and arms, and it is itchy and stings like hell. I need some advice on how to heal the burns.

You may smell like an Easter Egg, but a soak in a bath w/ vinegar in it takes the sting out.

IS this for real or is it like a joke, how much vinegar?

Moisturize!!!

Any kind of aloe product will feel awesome, moisturize and draw the heat out.

I have years of experience with sunburn, unfortunately.

Go to home depot or Walmart.

Buy an aloe plant--a real, live one.

Cut the leaves off of it down the middle and squirt the gel onto your skin.

Or open up the thick leaf and lay the inside of it on the skin. Live aloe actually numbs the sting and pain far better than the aloe extract gels you get--though those work to some extent too.

Also, eat pineapple over the next couple of days.

How do I moisturize? This is like only the second sunburn I've had in like 2 years!

I think I will do this, but what is the pineapple for?

Pinapple works to prevent swelling.

Sunburned skin actually swells a bit depending on the severity. Pineapple speeds healing.

Thankyou for being helpful. I am going to run to the store in about 10 minutes and get an aloe plant, pineapple, and some of that cool gel looking stuff.

It's not a joke. My grandmother use to draw vinegar baths for us when we got sunburned at the beach.

I don't know the ratio EXACTLY. She drew water just warm enough to not be cold, and only about an inch or two deep, then just poured some in.

I was a lifeguard for 8 years--my fave trick was Aloe Vera gel chilled in the refrigerator (then it will feel even cooler on the sunburn).

And next time--SPF--never leave home without it! cool
