well, there's social commentary in the Simple Life, too. unintentionally maybe, but hey... lol

There's also humor in it too. ..unintentionally. But I find people acting ignorant and stupid not really funny.
clapping worship

I am proud to say I've never seen a single damn episode of that show.

My Best Friends has that crap on DVD and I tease her about it all the time. SHe also has the Newlyweds too.

Now I did watch Anna Nicole Show and thought it was funny, even though she too was a dumb & spoiled & generally clueless. The difference was wall she was doped up all the time, but she wasn't necessarily acting. It was still bad TV, though.

Although the sublime perfection that was MST3K can never be duplicated, fans of that great show can still enjoy Mike Nelson - as well as Kevin Murphy (who voiced Tom Servo) and Bill Corbett (who voiced Crow T. Robot) - skewering movies via RiffTrax, Mike Nelson's current endeavor. biggrin

Sorry IB, I was at church.

To answer your question, I don't think Paris Hilton is a good actress, at all, don't get me wrong. But I DO love to watch her.

Anyways, worse actors are

Pauly Shore
Gilbert Godfrey
Brendan Phrasier

Ummmm, I dunno, I'll tell ya as I think of them

PS. the reason I don't like south park, is because first of all i never gave it a chance, cuz I'm not really into stuff like that in the first place.....but then one nite a friend talked me into watching it and when I did it was a skit with jesus that REALLY disturbed me. So I'll never watch it again. I was pretty turned off by that.

I know. Well, we have a satellite dish so we have about a million channels. Although about half of them are channels from Yemen, Dubai, and Iraq which, frankly, I'm just not interested in. lol

I don't even watch that much TV, but I love that I have about 6 different BBC channels. love I love British tv so that's what I'll really miss back in the States. sigh

well, there's BBCAmerica, it's at least something. and Link TV, IFC and Sundance show a lot of foreign movies, comedies, documentaries, etc. so it's certainly better than it used to be, but no comparison to Europe.

That's true (about BBCAmerica). biggrin

IFC and Sundance sound good, in theory, but I don't have the attention span for movies of any kind. lol boxed I really don't. Well, not for movies I haven't already seen. lol

Maybe I should try watching a whole movie one day. hmmm

lol highfive

I can't even remember the last time I actually saw one in the theater. I don't even try anymore because I get all fidgety and I'm always thinking about other things. lol Then I become one of those annoying people who has to turn and talk to the person I'm with asking: so wait....what's going on now?

I thought it was good. They did it in typical SP fashion. It was offensive but they did it in such a clever way to make their point. Now whether they needed to or not remains open. They obviously get the argument. I thought the beginning with using Wheel of Fortune was brilliant.

But really the funnier parts were with Cartman fighting the midget.

I laugh out loud regularly when I watch!

SP is a very well-written satirical social commentary.

Now, if you'll pardon me, I'm off to watch Ugly Betty.
