daniella sheep are notorious for getting out of their pens. you would need a super pagewire fence. and proper shelter. and lots of hay for the winter when they can't eat grass. (which they will eat to the root if you don't have enough space for them to graze.) and a source of water that you would have to check everyday that wasn't frozen.
they baaaa a lot. and it doesn't sound cute like when we do it. it gets rather tiresome. the romantic notion of them following you by your voice might exist if you were alone on a mountainside with them day and night but if you just want to come out and visit them once in a while they will probably just run from you they grow wool which needs to be buzzed off in the spring or they get too hot. they have lots of wrinkly skin under that wool so it's not a great idea to do it yourself. and i'm not sure how much a sheep shearer would charge to come out for one sheep on the plus side the manure is small and round and very good composted in your garden. all in all i like the goat option much better. even better still one of those miniature goats mind you, you would still need all the fence and shelter and hay and shit.

No thats not a typo, S-PRECIOUS. S for special and precious. So, she was our total baby, we took her EVERYWHERE with us, and she LOVED car rides. I mean, this cat went to bush parties on the weekends and all. Then I got pregnant, and she got psycho. Attacking me, giving me weird looks all the time. So I started locking her in the basement every day cuz I was scared she was gonna do something really bad to me. Then the baby came, she was nice to my son but still a little JERK to me. Well, we ended up giving her to my mom, cuz my son was allergic to her. I can't take another heart ache like Sprecious.

My brother and sister-in-law's goats get out of the pen all the time. The last time I was over there I went to the car to leave and the girl goat was waiting for me I petted her and she gave me a kiss on the hand What's funny is that their horses and goats share the same pen and when the goats are gone too long the horses "call" for them to come back.

I've been around pygmy goats, and they're really cute, and can make good pets.
But they're farm animals, not cats or dogs, and you need to keep them outside in the pasture/barn. They poop uncontrollably. But you live in the country, I don't see why you shouldn't get a sheep or a goat. I'd like to have a cow, too, maybe a pig, even. Actually pigs make great pets. They're affectionate & smart. The only problem is their hair is like a wire brush. My Legacy

A's parents had one, and it was really excited to see people, and it would rush up to them like a dog. But they're built like a barrel of solid muscle. The thing nearly knocked me over. I think cows are super cute, too, but if I had one I don't think I'd ever eat a burger again. I don't really eat pork cuz pigs are so cute & smart. My Legacy
