All the while I was listening I was just thinking about how I could be listening to some Motown stuff or something instead. There's little point doing something someone else has already done better. You'd be better off trying something new and really missing the mark, unless of course you were shrewd enough to know that a certain sound and the same copycat instrumentation on every track would come across as 'fresh' to some and would touch on the nostaligic tendencies of older critics. | |

My brother copied the first album for me, which I think was more original, but funnily enough I still actually prefer the second one, so that kinda flies in the face of what I said above. Maybe I just don't dig her voice or lyrics or something. | |
