Well there is no such thing as The Europeans. Each nation has it's own culture and mentality that is very different from the other's.
The German's culture is bizarre? lol How so? lol

I know, but we're speaking in broad terms here. Even talking about "Americans" is tough. . . put a native northwest hippie, a hispanic chick from LA, a hipster musician from New York, and a black southern businessman in the same room and see how much they have in common. shrug

It's hard for me to put my finger on the German thing. Whatever is odd to me about German culture reminds me of what I find odd about Russian culture. It's sort of. . . an anti-aesthetic. A little. . . tacky. Kind of overdone, but not in a Rococo sort of way. Traditional clothes and food. . . the music/art. . . even the sound of the language (which I speak a bit, and appreciate). . .hmm. . . I mean, ever seen German porn from the 90s? That just sums it ALL up. lol

True that Americans from different parts of the country with a different background may not have that much in common, but they are at least part of the same country.
Okay, I can see what you mean, though I have never seen it that way and it's very strange for me to see any ressamblance with Russian culture falloff. Oh and sorry Martina for asking that question wink .

Really this isnt a love hate thread.. just an awareness thread.. I could change it to Do you think Americans are more intelligent than Europeans, and I would hope I get the same responses..

I do for a fact know in England, in the lower end of society, there are some complete stupid bums.. and their whole life revolves around the street corner, getting drunk and pregnant

I would assume.. most Orgers here are intelligible enough that they can communicate worldwide on a site, with a computer, and so are educated, but there are the less fortunates who just see their life as getting their next hit.. be it drugs or a good thumping.. on either side of the globe..
wink

I didn't take it as a love/hate thread, just a discussion. We should all be looking critically at our cultures, right? shrug

And the Eurofuckers that I've personally known have been British and Slovak. lol I've actually had good experiences with Germans (though I think the culture, from what I know, is kind of bizarre, and my Slovak husband always made fun of them hardcore lol ), and I've only really known one French peson in my entire life. I actually suspect I would enjoy French culture and people a lot. I have a pretty high tolerance for arrogant know-it-alls, you see. mr.green

Ahh .. see I hold my hands up and PRESUMED it may be Germans or French.. so there is my lack of intelligence or just dry sense of humour.. wink

I love how the Org brings us all together as one.. hence the thread.. I have learned so much from your part of thw world as I am sure you will have done from our part.. but they do come together as one.. really there are not *sides* as such - just freaking funky sex mad eccentric orgers who all have one thing in common.. excited

But there are parts of america which are inbred, queer mf'ers who know jack shit in life..

there are thick ukers.. (prolly not inbred) but still thick as shit.. but cos you are a bigger country you got more of them shit for brains.. so with breeding you are more likely to inherit shit for brains.. and hence europeans are gonna be more intellectual than americans.. mr.green

omg jk lol

No...I think intelligence in people and their society should be judged on a case by case basis. Besides, what makes one intelligent anyway? Many people that are supposedly so intelligent still don't think through things completely and that holds regardless of what nation state you inhabit. I think there are generalizations on both sides of the fence about who is more or less intelligent and that in itself is a sign of ignorance. Ironically, the majority of the archaic, misguided things Americans believe came from Europe. The difference is there is so much more at play in the economic structure in the states ie, more to lose so the system works overtime to misled people thus making them seem less intelligent. However, if one is versed on the History, economic, and social make up of all parties involved--you realize there is really not that much of a difference between people and their level of intelligence.

yeah ok ok.. but surely you really dont think intelligence can be judged case by case,.. thats shutting yourself off from world awareness..

I mean we are one of the richest countries in the world,, but going by statistics we are the 31st worst country to live in.. that being Britain, so you cant judge on a case by case in this instance.. you gotta be responsible in a bigger spectrum and really see whats happeing in the bigger picture.. IMO

Well yes.. I admire you saying that..

I guess going by ratio.. there are alot more americans that are classless and stupid, comparing the size of america,, but again.. there are so many who dont even know whats going on around the world.. and are so closed in and narrowminded

I would also say Americans are more forth coming in saying their shit.. even though they are wrong.. alot wont just sit back and listen to what others are saying.. and maybe europeans are more reserved in that way.. as in they arent so bolshy, and will respect the opinions of others..

again.. just another theory hmmm

Yeah, "forthcoming" would be a charitable way to put it. I think that's a combination of middle-America isolation allowing people to believe that their opinions are the only opinions because they haven't really heard anybody say different, and also the openess of American culture. One of the things I like about Americans is that open attitude. There's a genuine warmth to it. But sure, on an intellectual level, it's very frustrating to have that combined with ignorance.

I also think that many European folks that I've met have a sort of know-it-all arrogance. Damned if you do. . . shrug

Of course, it's hard to generalize, because I don't think that average Americans on the coasts are, on balance, any less "intelligent" (well-rounded) than Europeans. They still have the hurdle of giant oceans/expensive flights if they want to visit anyplace other than Mexico and Canada, but I think there's more global awareness.

I wonder if many Europeans understand how many Americans envy and admire you. We get kinda bummed out being stuck over here sometimes. lol
