Hey H...(look at me being a non-lurker!) smile
To answer your questions (to the best of my ability--I could be wrong)

I think the cop was the doctor. Re-watch the first episode when Tony slams the door in the doc's face...

About the guy that Chrissy killed--I don't think that was his dad's murderer, but we will find out who it was eventually.

Silvio (that's little Stevie, right?) is mad because Tony's passed over Silvio to make Christopher the acting capo. The whole thing with the floor tiles was his way of telling him he was mad. I think.

I can't figure out what the hell a "no-show" is, but if someone knows, please let me know!

I don't know why he let him live, but did you know that the actor who plays him (Patsy) owns a restaurant in NYC?

I don't know what the deal is with Janice and Ritchie, but that was NASTY (but also humorous) with the toe nail clippings hitting her in the face!

Also, for all of you Law and Order fans--have you ever noticed how many people that are in Sopranos now have been a character in L&O? I know Edie Falco played a lawyer in one of them.

I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't know what a no-show is. I have been wondering that ever since Sunday.

Isn't Silvio already a captain?

He's right under Tony in chain of authority...that's why he went over Christopher's head and allowed the boosting of the fiber optic cable.

He's pissed (imo) because he wasn't consulted in why Chris was bumped up 2 "acting Capo", and thought maybe he should of been able 2 recommend someone... or maybe the fact that they know Chris is Tony's nephew, and they know that he's closer 2 inheriting the whole "family" thing then they r.

Yeah, also if u've ever watched the show "Oz" on HBO, Edie Falco played a prison guard on that show 2, and a whole slew of those actors r now on L&O: Special Victims Unit.

I have no idea what a "No-Show" is either...

Actually, I've been wondering what Silvio's position is exactly--he *could* be a captain and I just didn't know it. I was under the impression that he was whatever Robert Duvall was in The Godfather. But what do I know? smile

The Russian will be back.

I found out what a "no-show" is! I found this on another message board, from televisionwithoutpity.com, so I am just going to cut and paste what this one person said:

"Regarding construction projects and unions, the mob makes the big money from overcharging on the project which flows through to the general contractor who kicks back to the union, which is basically the mob (who controls the union). That is why there is so much excitement over the Esplanade, it is such a huge project (1/4 billion dollars), and there is so much money involved, that it is easy to skim off the top.

A side benefit of this arrangement, is the mob's control of the unions. Paulie arranged to have control of 5 union jobs with the Carpenter's Union (controlled by Ralphie) - Two no-shows and three no-works. That means that the Union is paying 5 paychecks to people who are not working on the project (this becomes a small portion of the overcharge that the taxpayers pick up). It appeared that Paulie and Christopher got the no-shows and Patsy, Little Paulie and someone else got the no-works (Wide Guy probably had his own no-work, since he's in Ralphie's crew). This provides a mob associate with not only a nice fat paycheck for doing nothing, but more importantly, something to put on a tax return in case the IRS ever wonders why they drive a new Cadillac every year. I believe the significance of no-work vs no-show is the no-work people have to actually be there in case some auditor (government in this case, since the project is likely government funded) shows up to verify the union members - the no-works are there but are "just taking a break". The no-shows can be "off picking up supplies"."

So now we are all in the loop.

Hey, how do u like how Christopher put his hand on the FBI agent's leg while making out with Adrianna...then she gets all bent out of shape, fucking screaming at Christopher... then he turns it around, making it seem like the agent was hitting on him... and she buys it!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha! evillol

Next thing u know, Adrianna's mad at the agent, won't return her calls and tells her 2 fuck off! Completely taking Chris' side!

I gotta find me a bitch like that!

Also, what's up with Paulie? I didn't like how they just showed him in jail 4 something we had no clue about...I also don't like the direction they're taking him in, with his apparent soon 2 b defiance of Tony.

Overall, an excellent premiere! I can't wait 4 Sunday's at 9pm again!

I heard that the actor who plays Paulie Walnuts is ill (not terminally) and that they had to downplay him for the first couple episodes. Thus, the abrupt, brief jail scene.

Here's more on that...very interesting. Read on:

---

"Sopranos" Star Whacks Cancer Story
Thu Sep 26, 5:10 PM ET
By Josh Grossberg

Paulie Walnuts' alter ego is looking to rub out a National Enquirer report.

Tony Sirico, who plays perfectly coifed wiseguy Paulie Gaultieri on HBO's The Sopranos, is looking to bust some heads after the tabloid claimed he was in a fight for his life.

According to the upcoming issue of the Enquirer, the 60-year-old actor "is battling deadly cancer that has spread from his mouth to his throat." The supermarket tab adds that Sirico was undergoing intensive radiation therapy but "continues smoking despite doctor's orders."

Sirico's health had come under scrutiny after it was revealed he would miss shooting on some early episodes of The Sopranos ( news - Y! TV) current fourth season, necessitating creator David Chase to rewrite several episodes. Paulie began the season in a federal lockup in Ohio on gun charges--away from the rest of the family--so Sirico's scenes could be filmed separately at a later date.

Needless to say, Sirico--who knows a little something about being a jailbird himself after a stint in prison in the late '60s and early '70s for sticking up nightclubs--wasn't exactly taking da news lyin' down.

"Those Fuckers!," Sirico tells the New York Daily News. "I have no cancer. I've had no radiation and no chemotherapy. It's complete bullshit!"

While the Brooklyn native said he ain't dying, he did cop to having some health problems this year, though not as serious as the Enquirer led on.

"I had a dead saliva gland removed from my tongue," Sirico tells the paper. "I also had a cyst removed from my spine last November. It was a very dangerous operation."

Sirico also revealed that he recently suffered a hernia, meaning he'll have to go back for more surgery.

"I started lifting weights a little too soon after my last operation," he tells the Daily News. "Bada-bing--I ripped one of my stomach walls. I gotta get a little nip and tuck."

Meanwhile, Sirico said he plans to broach the Enquirer matter with Tony Soprano, er, his attorney.

While Sirico says his own predicament is far from dire, his TV gangster character's days might be numbered. An offshore online gambling company called BetWWTS.com has Paulie, who maybe ready to offer his services to a rival family, listed as at 3-to-1 odds for getting whacked this season.

Yeah seriously please keep this thread going becuz I have ALOT of questions about The Sopranos.

You know what rather insignificant character I think will make a comeback? Remember the black cop who Tony got fired and then was selling statues or something??? My reasoning is that the eventual person to maybe kill Tony is not going to be a character who is being made to have a beef with Tony. Ralphie, Paulie would be too obvious. Rather, someone you would never think.

Another gut feeling is Bobby Bacala. They present him as almost sooo pasive and blindly loyal...almost stupid sometimes. He's the one they would least expect. Something big is gonna happen with him.

A friend told me that in the episode where Tony's Mom died that there is a scence where Pussy image appears in a reflection in a mirror very quickly. Apparently nobody noticed...although I have yet to verify myself! Anyone one else know anything about this???

Any thoughts on yesterday's episode? Any speculation as to what may happen next week, judging from the preview for next week? I'm going to watch it again tonight--what do you think the significance was for the scene with Dr. Melfi and her ex husband? That was kind of random.

Adrianna: I don't think she told the feds much, but is probably under orders 2 listen. I don't think she'll go thru with it though, and will probably confide in Christopher that she was nabbed.

Carmela: Yup, she's hot 4 Furio.

Bobby: I really like this charachter...so sad 4 his wife.

Paulie: Getting in2 some deep shit talking behind Tony's back and costing him big $$$... Shit's gonna go down.

Ralphie: His days r numbered, big time...and he likes it up the ass! lol

Janice: Super freak! I love how she thru Ralphie out.

Silvio: I guess he is "councilire" (or however u spell it) 2 Tony...so he's up there. He's still mad about something, and needs 2 talk with Tony.

Uncle Jr.: He'll beat the courts...

Overall...a good episode, next week looks very, very intense!

Bada Bing!

I think Bobby was quite aware of how rudely the others were acting at his wife's funeral. He's gonna fuck somebody up on the DL. I hope Janice doesn't try to get with him.

I think maybe they thru that Dr. Melfi scene in just to keep her in the mix. She has not really been too active yet. Nothing much has happened with the son yet either.

So Tony never confronted Ralphie about his sister? hmmm. Ralphie tells Janice he gonna kill her??? Yeah right, he'd be done for sure.

I thought last night's episode was the worst out of the 3 so far. They never continue the story line from the week before. The whole Columbus Day shit was funny at some moments but a disappointment overall.

I wasn't too crazy over the 3rd episode. The Columbus Day shit was stupid I thought. I wanted to see more of Ade, i am SO curious on what she told the FBI (AFTER she puked)...I do agree that the best parts were Carmella with Furio and the women at the gym.

Also, Bobby is the warmest character on the show. I REALLY hope he doesn't end up with Janice. She is a psycho (remember her stealing the Russian lady's leg last season?). He is too good for her.

Finally would Johnny Sacks PLEASE just wack Ralphie...that guy is such a pig. That shit with the dildo was just too twisted.

Here's my take on the latest episode:

Sylvio: Is back 2 being normal with Tony.

Christopher: Not much happened here, he put in his twocents over the John problem.

Johnny Sack: What a freak. While his love 4 his wife is admirable, he went over the brink with this revenge shit. Tony summed it up nicely when he said, he can't stand Ralphie himself, but he's not gonna let just anyone cap his Capo.

Carmela: WTF? She's treading thin ice with this admiration 4 Furio.

Furio: He don't have a clue how Carmela's feeling towards him... he's just a "nice guy" (as nice as cold blooded killers can be) lol

Meadow: In no way has the hots 4 Furio... she's been around these goodfellas all her life and is looking 4 something else.

Ralphie: Was the luckiest MoFo of all last night. This close 2 being capped. How'd u like how he talked shit about how Janice wanted 2 fuck him up the ass with a dildo and 2 make him act like she was his pimp...and he told her 2 fuck off! lol Then, he says "that whole family is sick"... turns around and hugs Tony 'hello'. lawd.

Adrianna: WTF? Let's get on with what the feds r up 2 with her.

Bobby: Looks like shit (more so than usual, heh heh) with his wife gone...unshaven, etc. He's gonna go down the tubes personally and professionally.

Anyone else get nervous when Carmela and Furio were dancing at his house warming party? Damn... she's flirting with disaster.

Great show last night. More, more, more!!!
