Well I just saw the movie and it's not bad at all,
the only thing that bothers me is the "Main" actor Pitt, and Blanchet.
I mean why bother with these big shots. 'Takes the attention away from the story.

I know, its money.

Films like these make me think the world is gettin' smaller.
Maybe it just looks that way from a distance.

That movie was NOT Oscar worthy. Just my 2 pennies.

That movie should have been a short.

I thought it was Brad Pitt's strongest performance since "Se7en" - that bit when he breaks down on the phone while talking to his kids is really heartbreaking.

I really enjoyed this film. I thought all the actors were amazing in it. The whole movie made me feel so frustrated and on the edge of my seat. The whole movie was "Oh God, what else can go wrong?"

I loved it, back to front. As I am not onto 'actors', Hollywood style, I was not set back by Brad Pitt's appearance in the movie. I thought his role was perfect. Indeed, the phone breakdown scene was amazing.

Just as Memento, the storyline puzzles the 'stereotypical' viewer. I suspect it must have irritated a good deal of people that want easy stories.

I loved EVERY actor in this movie, something that does not happen very often. I was also very touched by the drama as presented, which was not accentuated by big scores, (too many) big names or gross imperfections, like rushed ends, etc.

The way every story unfolded was amazing, I truly FELT for all the injustice and mis understanding. This story had me involved and scared and yes, even almost crying.

I adore directors that dare to step out with genius movies like this.

And if this is not Oscar-worthy, then I am glad I have a different sense of genius movie making than the Oscars. Maybe that's why it was not a surprise this movie was not directed by an American.

It's interesting that people liked this movie. It was pure nonsense. A terrible attempt at the CRASH effect.

#1. No way the people on the bus wait around for Pitt and his wife.
#2. No one.....and I mean no one would be shooting at the bus 2 see if the gun worked.
#3. The Asian girl was trying way 2 hard 2 get screwed and we all KNOW it does NOT work that way.
#4. All of the characters in this movie were NOt very bright.

I don't see what u liked or were entertained by. Take Pitt out of the movie and u have NOTHING.

I myself do not take celebrity THAT serious. I can watch most actors without cringing about their real life status.

I don't watch/read gossip tv/magazines, so that kinda helps keeping my mind being prejudiced.

I really didn't like this movie very much. I *think* the director/writer was trying to go for a "Crash" effect, but there's not really anything on the screen that would lead you to believe that. Everything added up to nothing. (And aside from a few extremely moving scenes, I thought "Crash" was a wreck too, being way too heavy-handed and not realistic at all.)

There were a couple of moments when I actually felt an emotional connection to a few of the characters' stories, but overall, I really couldn't have cared less about these people or what happened to them.

Perhaps it was too little time spend with each one in one sitting before jumping to the next one. That might have been it. But I know that one of the reasons was because almost all of the emotional pay-off to the stories was sort of an after thought:

Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett sit around in Morocco waiting for a helicopter to come from half the movie, and then when it finally does come, it's sort of glossed over. Same thing with her recovery. We find out from a quick newsbite that she's been released from the hospital.

We find out that the children have been found in a conversation with an INS agent. And the housekeeper was my favorite character, but it was hard to feel bad for her situation when she was living in the country illegally.

We find out what the Japanese girl's damage is, only for it to have been a lie with no real reason for it to have been told to us rather than the truth.


Sorry, but this movie just added up to a bunch of nothing. It really had potential, but it was wasted.

I thought this movie was incredible. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

It was a beautifully done movie, but it really didn't work well for me.....it felt like I sat at a chinese food buffet...in the end, I felt like I hadn't eaten a thing....nothing stuck....the overwhelming feeling of "So What?"

I loved Babel!! I loved the entire story and the acting was top rate from all. I think it should've won best picture. Seriously, it was much better than the Departed. It really made me think and not too many movies have that affect.
