MP3 players: SanDisk vs Apple I want to get an mp3 player. I like the price of sandisk and have always been anti-apple. Anybody have opinions on the two? I saw a 1GB Sandisk for about $79.99. Sounded good to me

It depends on how much style plays a part in your decision making.
I find the iPods to be too hot to ignore. I love my Ipod Nano Red, and plan on getting the touch screen video iPod which I'm sure Apple will release this summer or fall. They're just too damned good looking to pass up. But if I were not to go with Apple, I'd look into a Creative Zen model. They give you more features than competing Apple products for the same or less. They're lower end Muvo models have radios, voice recorders, and a host of settings Apple's Ipod Nano doesn't. For me, these features were not a consideration as I would rarely if ever use them, so I went with the Nano. Also, if you have alot of license .wma files, Apple isn't for you. Nano's won't play .wma files. go with Apple.

I don't really like Apple that much either. At least as far as some products go. But I really want an iPod. It just looks like a better product to me. HE'S COMING AGAIN

I would recommend really looking into the Creative Zen products though. Creative tends to have really great sound in their players. Get an Apple.

This is a great player:
http://www.creative.com/p...duct=12720 Skip-free MP3/WMA player 1GB Capacity1 - stores up to 500 songs2 512MB Capacity1 - stores up to 250 songs2 Directly record music from any audio source with line-in Tune in to 32 stations and record voice memos with built-in microphone Fast music transfer with USB 2.0 interface Simple drag and drop music and data files, no software needed Store data files such as photos and presentations Reversible LCD for left or right handed operation 4 Band EQ (Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock) - settings to make your music sound better Weight: 0.8 oz without battery Up to 18 hrs of battery life4 Signal-To-Noise Ratio: up to 90dB Frequency Response: 20Hz to 20kHz Harmonic Response Output: <0.1% Available in 10 electrifying colors The only problem I had with mine (which is 3 years old) is that I had to do a firmware upgrade cuase the mp3 files made a hissing noise. Once I updated the firmware, it sounded terrific. The ones now I assume have the lastest firmware.

Their Zen Vision is their top of the line player--an excellent player. But the Muvo and Nano are their smaller players. The one you see here is so tiny that you don't notice it on you when you're wearing it. Of course, it's not as small as the IPod Shuffle, but with a radio tuner, voice recorder, and mutliple settings, it is far more robust. Do get an Apple though.

I think Creative has one that has a memory card option, but I never really considered that in my purchases.
