However I was in the northridge quake in 94 in LA that was fun I was in LA for that one, too. It was one of the only times I ever thought I was going to die. I thought it was the big one. You never know how big they're gonna be. Weird, too, after the 94 quake all my neighbors and I were outside talking and scared at like 4:30 in the morning, and my parents who were only 25 miles away said they went right back to sleep, no big deal. That day I formed a band called Planet Tranquil My Legacy

I remember seeing flashes of light out the window. I never knew what that was. I wasn't that close to it, but not so far from me the freeway collapsed. We must have been near the faultline. My Legacy

I've always wanted to be in a small earthquake. I have been in two small earthquakes. My hubby and I lived near Oceanside, CA in the early 90's. There were little tremors all the time, but we never felt them until the two that were over 4.0. There were 2 in 2 days from different faults. The news said that was very unusual, so I was convinced that "The Big One" was about to happen. The first one hit at around 10 pm. My hubby and I had just gotten into bed. Just after we get settled, there was a little rumble, like a big truck had just driven by outside, but it did not stop and it got stronger. I was like "Oh shit it's an earthquake!!! Get in the doorway!" So we jump up. My husband was FREAKED completely out and could not sleep the rest of the night. The next day I was on the phone letting my mom know that if she heard about the tremor (she worked at a newspaper) not to worry because it was small and we were fine. As we're talking, another one starts up. I tell her "Mom, we're okay. Matter of fact, there's another one that's just started. I'll call you right back." I go get in the doorway again, because my bed had actually started swaying. When it all stopped, the apartment SWAYED, like it was a boat or something. That was the scariest thing of all. When it was over, I called my mom back to let her know everything was okay. After that I could feel every tremor. It was really weird. Soon after that, we moved to Virginia. The first night in our new apartment, some heavy trucks drove by and it felt like a tremor. My hubby and I were like But then we turned off the Spidey Sense and we were able to relax. I'm firmly planted in denial | |
