really? did it matter if it was on hot or cool?

i did the thing where you hold your nostrils, shut your mouth, and blow from your throat really hard. and after a week, it finally worked! one one ear, anyway...

the feeling of it unclogging was INTENSE. nuts

The blow dryer was hot. He said the warm air helps

I got really painful ears on a plane once, and the flight attendant gave me 2 plastic cups, both with hot, steaming wet flannels in them, to hold over my ears! I can't say it worked neutral

I only clog sometimes when I fly. Then I do the close your mouth, hold your nose and blow, which works for me.

I've never done the candling thing. Once a month, I dripdrop hydrogen peroxide into one ear at a time for about 5 minutes. Fill it up. It tickles when it bubbles, and it eats away at and lifts whatever is hiding in there and nothing but...then I drain, and wipe with a Q-tip.

I know yours is not an issue of hygene, Anx. But, first and foremost, make sure your ears always stay super clean.

pinch your nose shut and blow. but, be careful sometimes cause this method can make it worse if you're really congested.

I just want to confess to you all that I've been about 80% deaf over the past week.

I had a flu that turned into a sinus infection that turned into a really really bad case of clogged ears, and for the past seven or eight days I've barely been able to hear anything.

And just about 10 minutes ago, my right ear popped...so now I'm half NOT-80%-deaf! woot!

Not hearing sux, though at work it's not so bad because you miss out on a lot of things that usually get on your nerves.

Otherwise though, suck city.

Any good advice or techniques for ear popping?

Hold your nose....close your mouth tight....and blow gently to moderate in force.

i started doing that yesterday and it helped.

and today i'm adding sudafed and neosenephrin to the mix.

if nothing else, i'm on a plane to iceland in a couple weeks, maybe the altitude will make my ears pop. as bad as it is, if my ears pop people around me will probably think i'm having the big O. lol

Do the old olive oil remedy.

Put some olive oil in a teaspoon.. Warm the spoon with a match or lighter, dip some cotton in the olive oil, and put in ear..

And for goodness sake be careful that you don't pop your eardrum.!!!
