It's a form of "Exercise Bolemia"

Believe it or not it's a true diagnosis.

Go to pro ana nation, that is the most informed site there is.

Dan is rite.

People excercise to the point way beyond exhaustion instead of purging.

I know a woman who is borderline excercise bolemia.

It works out so much that I think she has a boy ass, and she wants to get her boobs enlarged becuase her boobs have been shrinking from all her fat loss.

She refuses to believe that she'd be more attractive with 15 more pounds on her.shrug

wierd. I'll say one thing though--she is very healthy. I mean in great shape--she's just too fat free. I like a little junk in the trunk.

I'm just really informed on this and followed it a lot. I have a cousin who died of a heart attack brought on from eating disorders, and really, its not uncommon as people think. That model who dies shocked people, and it really should NOT have been a shock.

I also find it interesting that people make fun of thin people and call thenm anorexic and that, when people DIE of this disease. It's like making fun of CANCER, to me.

can't the gym owners just throw them out?

Most gyms have 30 minute rules for each piece of equipment. But an exorcise bolemic will work out 30 minutes on 4 or 5 of them, then go outside, and run for 5 or 10 miles.

And this is like every day! Alot of them eat normally, or even eat alot. But they excercise so much, that they end up being thin.

Yes, AGAIN go to pro ana nation.

They give you tips on how to 'sneak excercise'.

These sites are not there to help people of their eating disorder.

They are there to keep them on it.

Eating disorders are ultimately about control.

A sickening desire to control.

So are these sites.

They are truly evil even if the creators thought they had good intentions.

Because they are PRO anorexia and PRO bolemia and not AGAINST it.

They promote a disorder that can kill you and does an incredible amount of emotional damge to you and the people that care about you.

They show pictures of women who are like skeletons and state that as their ideal.

they are helpinge achother out with all the tips and trick how not to eat, how to puke, how to fool everybody.

Especially yourself.

These are basicically promotion sites for suicide by starving yourself.

Anyone defending them either is uninformed or has an eating disorder.

anything that denies that the sickness is a sickness isn't helpful...its a denial site, plain and simple....the only encouragement that is going on is encouraging people to find better ways to hide what they're doing....

if it was a "support" site for pedophiles, everyone would be up in arms about that shit.....and to me, this is no different...IMHO....

yeah, but one could offer the argument that an anorexic isn't doing something that directly victimizes another person, unlike the common perception of a pedophile.

like, if i want to put cigarettes out on my arm for kicks and there's a community of people who like to be human ashtrays, then i should be able to start a site offering tips on how to treat my burns so they don't get infected and i can be healthy for more siggie arm stubbing action.

that would smell REALLY bad, though. ill

true enuff...but it does victimize other people, because the families and spouses of these folks have to deal with them....and have to watch them circumvent every attempt to help them....Like I've said recently on another thread, I'm Dr. Phil's bitch lately and he recently had one show on about women with eating disorders that totally freaked me out...not only because of what they were doing to themselves, but how they treated their families....demanding that since they don't eat certain things, that NO ONE in the house could have it....I know that using pedophilia as a comparative example may not have been the best route.. doh! ...but my point was that this kind of site isn't healthy at all...its not a support site...

hmmm now if you're the type that digs the whole "human ashtray" scene, well, you start the site and I'll post out of courtesy...you know...to help you launch it and all...not that I support that kind of thing.....whistling

i KNEW it! i had you pegged all along, ya sickie! razz

seriously, i agree...when a person is self-destructive, their friends and loved ones almost ALWAYS end up indirectly victimized by the person's behavior. and i am being extremely generous when i say "indirectly", as i have personally had to play caretaker/interventionist/warden more times than i like, and it's always been horrible and it's taken a lot out of me on every level imaginable.

still and all, i think this kind of "peripheral" victimization is different than behaviors that require the exploitation of another person for that behavior to be satisfied, if i worded that correctly.

are there any ANTI-PRO-ANI sites out there? or boards for family members of "anis" and "mias"?

Really?

I'm not saying thats not true. It may be, and I didn;t see the show. But a lot of anorexics are obsessed with food, and COOK all the time. I'll have to see if I can find a statistic for it.

Yeah, I know one really popular one that I say a while back was called "Something Fishy" or something like that.

I'll have to look it up, this was years ago, but it was one like I described, where you are not allowed to post any numbers pictures rituals, or if you relapse you have to leave.

Okay I found it.
This is really the best support site there it.

I hate that as well. disbelief My sister has been teased her whole life for 'being anorexic' when she's just naturally extremely thin.

Like everyone else has said, the sites have a few positive aspects, but mostly encourage it. shrug They definitely shouldn't be banned.

thanx for the info....it will be of great help for me because the military has strigent weight standards for males and females and it will arm me with info just in case...as a leader, its my duty to be prepared for anything....

but as far as the anorexia/diet thing, both of these women were severe anorexics...both weighed less than 90 lbs....both looked like concentration camp victims....and both said it on the open air....Dr. Phil's website keeps an archive of past programs...not sure of when this one aired since I'm in Iraq and we don't watch all shows when they're originally broadcast, but I'm thinking somewhere around Christmas, give or take a week or so before or after...

Also, You can look at youtube.

It is LOADED with thinso's. People watch them if they get craving for food, and it inspires them not to eat.

I think really everyone needs to watch atleast ONE of these, so you can see EXACTLY just HOW SERIOUS this is getting.

Here is just one example, but there are TONS of these!
