Karate Kid part II.

nod

Such an incredibly touching and spiritual flick. I even have the soundtrack to that thing. Which was not an easy find, because it was never released and I had to search for the bootleg.

What is it about?

If you haven't seen this, then this is a MUST see movie.

It is about a composer called Salieri so envies of Mozart's genius, that on his death bed he tells a priest why he thinks he is responsible for Mozart's death.

Based on a play by Peter Shaffer, the movie is directed by Milos Forman. The music in the movie treanscends so many levels, Schaffer hiself stated during writing the screenplay; "Listen, the music is becoming the third character of this film."

What makes this movie so beautiful is the loving dedication that went into it; from screenwriters, director, actors, costume design, stage design (filmed in communist Prague, to be exact) and musical performances.

The acting is AMAZING. F. Murray Abrahams won, logically. Even though it cost Tom Hulce a statue. Only one can win.

The movie is able to convey the emotions, the joy, the horror of Mozart's life and Salieri's gruesome tale.

Please, please, please, open your mind to this movie. If you are not a fan of classical music, it might be so you come out a fan just because of the experience.

Thanks for the great review thumbs up!

It sounds too epic for me, if you know what i mean lol I`ll have to see some clips on youtube, maybe i`ll end up liking it...

It's very hard to pick favourite movies. I have enjoyed so many, from different genres. To name a few.....

Gone with the Wind
Casablanca
Imitation of Life
Dark Victory
Coming Home
Training Day (Denzel rocks in this movie)
The Godfather
Scarface
The Color Purple
Pulp Fiction
The Usual Suspects
21 Grams
Mystic River
Do the Right Thing
Like Water for Chocolate
Some Like it Hot
Denise the Menace (with Walter Matthau - it's classic)
A Christmas Story

And many more!

If I was to go by which movie I've seen the most in my lifetime, I'd go with Wrath of Khan. However, I think I'd go with the Lord of the Ring trilogy as my favorite. I have sooooo many others that are up there on my list, but these are the stand-outs.

GREAT MOVIES!! Big Fish had me in tears because it reminds me so much of my dad....he's still among us, but he ain't getting any younger and I dread the thought of being way the hell over here and getting a Red Cross message about him passing on....without saying goodbye.... sad that would suck!
